The Thumbs-Up Phone Holder Can Be Used To Hold Up Many More Things!

I bought the Butefo Thumbs Up Cell Phone Holder on Amazon and like them a lot. First, here’s a bit about them from the company: Cool, cute, compact and effective! Thumbs-up OK design! Use it as phone mount at home, phone stand at the office, kitchen display, airplane device viewer. Holds devices with approximate span from 3 1/2 inch to 8 inches – 90mm to 203mm), Slot width:3/8 inch (10mm). (Weird description:) Built with Silicone Material to make it more flexible, durable, longer lasting and good toughness. Adjustable – Stand angle easily adjusted, supporting both vertical and horizontal viewing. Rubber pads and feet protect your device from scratches and sliding. $17.99.

From The Giz Wiz: I like these not so much for holding a phone, but for displaying lots of other (mostly MAD) things at Gizneyland. I have them holding up an Alfred E. Neuman CD, some MAD Halloween Cards, even a MAD car in a blister pack. (You’ll see how it works with them all on this week’s show.) The 8 pack seems the best buy at $17.99 as of 9/4/20 (that’s $2.25 each), when you consider one vendor is selling a single ThumbsUp holder for $6.99. I received eight assorted colors in the box, with no two colors the same.

Ever hear of LED Gloves? Yes, it’s thing!

If you show these odd shaped things to someone, it would be hard to figure out what they are. But as you’ll see in the video, they’re LED Flashlight Gloves. On the Amazon website page I was on, they were two pair for roughly $15.00 or $7.50 each. I got 2 pairs of LED flashlight gloves and 2 screwdrivers for opening the 2 button cell battery compartment. The idea is to wear them sort of as portable flashlights. There’s an on and off button and 2 LED lamps, one on the forefinger and one on the thumb of each glove. Since they’re worn on your hands there’s no need to hold a traditional flashlight so doing chores in the dark should be easy. They come with no instructions, but fortunately there’s the photo on Amazon which makes it easy to see how to wear them. The description says the gloves are made of comfortable, soft, breathable cotton material – that hand washing will not affect normal use, but it can not be soaked in water for a long time. Although it also says ‘LED gloves last about 30 hours’ they’re talking about the batteries which you can replace. I opened one battery compartment with the included screwdriver and find each glove uses two CR2016 batteries which are easy to find on Amazon. I bought them at the link below 2 pair for under $15.00

We Didn’t Have Time To Show This Inexpensive Way To Repair Eyeglasses That Have a Loose Or Missing Screw.

I have a pair of glasses I love. I’ll been unable to buy a second pair because these glasses are years old and I don’t see them anywhere online. But I couldn’t wear them because of a missing screw that seperated one of the earpieces from the rest of the frame. So on to Amazon where I saw something they ask: Perfect repair kit? It comes with 6 different sized precision magnetic eyeglass screwdrivers, a 1000 pieces of eyeglasses screws, nuts, and both metal and plastic washers. There’s even a multi-function micro screwdriver that can fit on a keychain, tweezers, and a glasses cleaning cloth. I was able to fix my glasses in a ‘good enough way’ as you’ll see in this week’s show. So this kit is good eyeglass and sunglasses repair and most likely for other things like electronic, computer, and jewelry repair, or fixing anything with micro screws. The screws are said to be made of stainless steel, so they may or may not be attracted by the magnetic screwdrivers. The one screw I needed was. The entire kit was under $10 on Amazon.

The New & Unique ‘Back To School’ Gadgets I Showed On World News Now.

Here’s the spot as it aired on World News Now, ABC Network: https://abcnews.go.com/WNN/video/back-school-gadgets-72300873

Which should I get? Laptop or tablet? Why not both? In one device!

It’s the 2020 version of the very popular Acer Spin 3

. This versatile notebook has a 360-degree hinge, so the touchscreen display can be used in virtually any position, notebook, tablet, or tent mode, perfect for watching learning videos, or even for playing games when lessons are over. There is a built-in garage for the active stylus that uses Wacom AES technology and keeps it from being misplaced. Powered by a 10th Generation Intel Core processor it can deliver up to 12 hours of battery life. There’s and 14-inch full HD IPS display, webcam, microphone, stereo speakers, integrated fingerprint reader and durable aluminum chassis. Available starting at $500. Higher end models might include deluxe features like an Intel i7 chip, 512 GB Solid State Drive, and up to 8GB of ram. Available now at places like WalMart, Amazon and Costco.Searching online, here are the specs of the $699.00 model at Walmart: Acer Spin 3, 2-in-1 Laptop, 14″ Full HD IPS Touch, 10th Gen Intel Core i7-1065G7, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Rechargeable Active Stylus, SP314-54N-77L5 (Google Classroom Compatible). This was lower than the price I saw on Amazon. (As of 8/9/20)

Meet The Pix LED Digital Large Size Backpack & The Up-coming Pix Mini.

I always try to find a unique backpack for back to school, and these two Pix Backpacks are about as techie as you can get.

Use your mobile device to write, draw and even play games like Tetris right on your backpack. The flexible, water-repellent fabric makes it resistant to water splashes and major physical impact. Use your own power pack that has a 2A output, one is not included. A 10,000 mAh powerpack is enough to power the Pix Backpack for 5-6 hours of nonstop usage. There are two versions. The bigger one is just called the Pix LED Digital Backpack. It has more features and more room than the new Mini-Pix backpack. It is available in black or gray with a MSRP of $199.00

Like it’s big brother, the Pix-Mini also allows an integrated in-app image editor let kids create animations and display them on the ambient screen of the backpack. Plus, the company says the Pix Mini app offers brain-stimulating games designed to test memory and cognitive capabilities. Now the Pix Mini was supposed to be ready in time for ‘back to school’ delivery, but Convid-19 put it off for a month or so. Delivery now is expected to be next month (September), and right now it’s priced at $99 if preordered on the company website. I don’t know how long the $99 price will be in effect. Full MSRP is $159.00. IMPORTANT NOTE: Use your own power pack that has a 2A output, one is not included with either backpack, the Pix-Mini, or Pix original. The company says a 10,000 mAh powerpack is enough to power the Pix Backpack for 5-6 hours of nonstop usage.
