The Giz Wiz #2095, Recorded Thursday June 4, 2026
We start the show with: A Handheld Fan With A Cold Compress Feature!
What?
Yep, here’s what the company says on Amazon: “The ice compress function offers instant cooling relief after
workouts or on hot days. Rechargeable, personal & ideal for travel & hot days.” Strangely, it does work, although the mini plate that gets cold is very small, like 1 ¼” square. But it’s probably enough to make you feel a bit cooler in high heat. I got surface reading thermometer to drop from 79 degrees to 52.5 degrees in about a minute or two. There’s also a 100 speed scroll wheel, a great LED readout, a wearable carry strap and it can be used to recharge your phone with it’s 9000 mAh battery. The only downside to me was that speed dial. Everytime you turn the fan off and back on, the dail starts at 1% and you need to spin it up the speed you want. But, it’s not a deal breaker. I do like the look of this fan and all it’s other features. MSRP: $29.99, but as of 6/5/26, there was a $9 off coupon. So $21 seems a good deal to me.

Ever See A Mini Wearable BT Speaker w/ AI Assistants?
You have now. It’s The Tozo PM1 Smart Speaker. That’s what the company calls it, but the AI part on the speaker is available through your phone and the Tozo app. This speaker seems to be pitched toward people who need a way to hear and use their phone outdoors, but cannot wear in ear devices because they must be aware of what’s going on around. Like construction workers, guards, etc. But for me, I found the perfect use for it. The sound on this is 10X better than the speaker in my phone for calls. It has a built-in mic, USB-C charging and up to 20 hours of play time with the built in 900 mAh battery. It’s also IP67 waterproof. MSRP: $39.99, but I found it on sale for half that. And as of 6/5/26, it was still selling for $19.99.

Another ‘What The Heck Is It?”
Those two strange gadgets are the ByTech Shoe Lights. I got them at Five Below for $5. But, I don’t recommend them. I expected them to be battery operated, but didn’t expect to have open the case with a tiny (not included) screwdriver. You’ll see the whole process on this week’s show. They’re probably a lot of fun for kids, or if there was a way to attach them to slippers, maybe even for older folks getting up in the dark. But I really recommend you look for rechargeable shoe lights. via USB-C. That way you don’t have to deal with the dreaded ‘remove spacer from batteries’ before use. It’s not easy in such a small device! There are dozens of options on Amazon and many with USB-C charging.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
Chad’s new June Cheap Gadget Theme, as voted on by our loyal Patreons is:
Minature Gadgets!
Chad’s first Minature gadget is the 3 Otter Mini Desktop Bowling Game. This mini bowling game is easy to set up and fun to play. Chad, the chatroom and even I liked this tiny mini bowling game. It includes more ten mini bowling pins, 3 stainless steel bowling balls, and a wooden base with a swinging ramp. Just position the ramp in the desired direction, then send the ball rolling down the “alley”. It’s fun and it’s small, just 11.6 x 3.9 inches. Chad wished there was a way to keep all the tiny bowling pins together, but it seems they include some extras in case you lose one or two. It’s priced at just $11.99 and it got 4.3 out of 5 stars from more than 2800 Amazon reviews.
