The Giz Wiz Show #2082, Recorded Thursday March 5, 2026
On February 20th, 2026 The Giz Wiz Show reached it’s 20th Anniversary! It’s one of the longest running podcasts in the country! And in all those years, the quality never changed. It never got better! But we do have fun gadgets, a great chatroom, and actually learn stuff, sometimes!
Final fun stuff from Toy Fair 2026.
Red Tool Box Adds To Their Goodyear Kid’s Inventive Toy Line.
At the show we saw the Goodyear Mega Truck Take Apart Toy Engine Set . I think kids will love this. They can work on the engine in the front and then play drive from the truck dashboard in the back. It’s said to be for kids 3+. The spokesperson at the show said it was about $50, but I think she was thinking we were buyers for a store and gave us a much lower price.. It seems to be selling everywhere I searched for $79.99, including Amazon. Link below.
UPDATE: The Goodyear Take Apart Truck Kit at Amazon and other places I checked is not the new larger version we saw at Toy Fair. The only place it seems to be available when I did a web search on 3/7/26 is Costco. And that sighting was in post on Facebook, where someone uploaded a picture of the box on sale in a Costco store. It was marked. $64.99.
Also great for kids is their new Goodyear Pretend Motorcycle. As you’ll see in the video, there are lots of parts for kids to play with, including the motor that can be taken out of the ‘machine’. There’s even ‘smoke’ from the engine, which I believe is actually water vapor. The motorcycle will most likely retail for about the same $79.99 price as the Goodyear truck. However, that’s scheduled to come out for holidays, which usually means being available in the fall of this year.

The spokesperson at Toy Fair said it was also available on Amazon. I found this link, but it is not the “MEGA” version: https://amzn.to/4rgLX8O

A last look around Toy Fair before we leave.

The first thing we saw roaming the aisles was a huge alligator from Wild Republic. I could not find it when I searched for it on their website, which could mean it might be new to the line. But they make lots of other plush animals, including alligators. A link to the company website is below.

We’ve seen the Zipstring Aracna at last year’s Toy Fair, but our friends at Zipstring said they were showing a “new, improved” version.
You’ll see it in action on this week’s show. The new model ships with 5 varied Zipstrings and the new kit will retail for $39.99. It’s already on the company website.

If you’re a senior, or play games with seniors, you should know about a new game called “Senior Moments”. You roll the die, but before you can move your play piece, you must repeat a phrase another player reads to you from the back of the card you picked. If you remember it, and repeat it correctly, you move forward on the board. Sounds like fun! There’s also a travel version.

Okay, What The Heck Was That Jan/Feb 2026 Gadget?
That gadget is the: handy Beyyon Rechargeable, Magnetic Electric Hand Warmer. It has four heat levels plus the battery power levels, which are shown on the two LED Displays. Each hand unit has a 5000 mAh battery which the company says can be combined to offer phone charging from the device in an emergency. Surprisingly, the hand warmer were under $10 on Amazon. (Link below.) I bought one to use as the WTHII gadget, but now that the game is over, I can start using it. (Hopefully, not for long as warm weather should be on the way to NYC But I did buy another unit for my spouse, Dennis who wanted one after he saw the demo.)

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
At the warehouse I found my Data Wave Wireless Rock Speaker. It looks like a rock and plays music, even if it’s not rock. It was designed to let you play music in your backyard or other outdoor areas. You plugged your music source into the transmitter via RCA stereo jacks. The sysstem used 900 Megahertz technology, so the range was only about 150 feet. It’s from 1991 and it cost $150.00. A lot of money back then! It’s equals about $338.00 today.

Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/397161069705 – I thought this was the speaker for $25 — It’s just a ‘press photo’ of the item!
