Great gift ideas, even after Christmas. (Dinos are still wildly popular!)
Kids still love Dinosaurs, so I found two different possibilities. My local Five Below Store still had this in stock two days before Christmas. As you’ll see on this week’s show, even if you miss it for Christmas, it’s a great fun toy for just $5.00. It’s the roaring and walking Robot T-Rex. And yes, he can roar and walk at the same time. He does require 3 AA batteries which are not included. And here’s a tip. The instructions have a really poor illustration with the instruction to install 3 AA batteries in his back. Well the batteries go in his stomach in the front. I was really impressed with how detailed this was for the money. Oh, I should mention the remote control is a wired remote, but again, $5!!
Amazon has the LeonMake Dinosaur Toy listed with a weird variety of ages: “for Kids 3-5: Take Apart Dinosaur Toy for 3 4 5 6 7 8 Year Old Boys Girl | STEM Construction Building Dinosaur with Electric Drill | Boys Toys Age 6-8 | Birthday Gifts. 3 Pack Dino Toys: The box contains 3 different mountable dinosaurs, such as the blue T Rex, the orange Velociraptor and the green Triceratops, with lifelike details that make them look very realistic. Your kids can assemble it with his brother or friends. From the Giz Wiz: I thought from the photo and “take apart Dinosaur Toy” you should well, take them a part. Well you can, but first you have to build them. To make it easy kids can use the toy electric screwdriver. It’s powered by 2 AAA batteries which are included. The screw heads are very big making it easier to screw in and remove, and the screwdriver is slow rotating for safety. But there are a couple of ‘manual screwdrivers in the box too. The dinos are different but some parts are the same so kids can put the head of a Tyrannosaurus Rex on the body of a Triceratops. I bought the $24 version, but it seems like the same toy is available (judging by the pictures & description) for a lot less on Amazon. The link leads to the page where you’ll find a lot of choices.

Meet The Ultimate Power Supply Kit
Wow, forget about going through your box of transformer plugs if you need to power a smaller gadget and can’t find the one that came with it. I found an impressive power supply kit, the IBERLS 24W AC DC Power Supply. It offers 5V 6V 7V 8V 9V 10V 11V 12V 13V 14V 15V 16V 17V 18V 19V 20V, at 1A 1.5A 2A 2.5A 3A Amp. So an adapter that goes from 5V to 20V is a bigger range than anything I own, or have seen. Here’s a bit more from Amazon: Compatibility 24W Replacement Power Adapter Suitable For Variety of Home Electronics, USB Hub Tablet, LED Strips, CCTV camera system, Household Routers, Roku Speakers, Smart Phone, Monitor, DVR, DVD Player, HDMI Converter, Kindle, rowing machine, games consoles, Raspberry Pi 4 / Pi 3. Unique voltage regulator that controls the voltage through a smart chip. It was about $17.00 on 12/22/22.

A Look Ahead To A Gadget Chad Just Might Get To Try At CES 2023!
Rollkers is a product the spokesperson said hopes to be available by the end of 2023. (Info via Rollkers.) They are described as the ideal personal mobility device that allows people to reduce their trip times by doubling the walking speed. Enabling speeds up to seven miles per hour with a range of 30 minutes. Thanks to instinctive control algorithms, users walk naturally, as though on a travelator, with no training required. Using Tracks technology, Rollkers are stabilized with no loss of balance. The estimated retail price they shooting for is $700 US.
I thought the sounded a bit familiar, and doing a little researach I realize I probably saw them at CES 2015. But you’ll see how far the design has come between the 2015 model & the 2022 model according to their videos.

Chad’s Crappy Corner.
Chad’s final Cheap Handyman Gadget is the Twist and Seal Maxx. It’s a Heavy Duty Outdoor Extension Cord Safety Cover Connector and Weatherproof Electrical Protector.
From the company: Perfect for keeping water, mud and melting snow away from larger extension cord connections. No more tripped outlets or interruptions in power when the job site gets wet and muddy. Simply place your connections inside and clamp latches down!
Specifically designed to fit heavy duty 10-16 gauge outdoor extension cord connections. Helps prevents tripped outlets and reduce the risk of electrical shock. Independently lab tested to meet and exceed NEMA standards for protection against rain, sleet and ice.
And Chad’s take: Chad thought this was super and will really keep outdoor connections safe from disconnecting and from the elements. You’ll see and hear his complete comments on this week’s show. Chad paid about $22 for a pair of them, and they’re about the same price on Amazon. He also said he wished it was a little less bulky, so I included a link that shows other varieties of the Twist & Seal.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse.
Our warehouse video is from Mo Torres our most frequent contributor & loyal fan.
Mo emails us: The following are several things I was unable to cover in the video.
Before purchasing the scanner, I had been scanning my photos with a flatbed scanner. I scanned 11K photos with the flatbed scanner, the only problem was that it took me 7 months. When i was done scanning, the mistake I made was to share this info with my family. I then received a flood of requests to scan additional family photos, 55K more, in total. When my search started, & I found this scanner, which was being purchased by department stores like Walmart. I figured if Walmart was purchasing these scanners for their customers to scan, probably millions of photos, then this scanner was the one I needed, because of the assumption of quality and ease of use.
I purchased the scanner over 6 years ago. The cost of the scanner was a little over 1 thousand dollars. I also, to have the ability to scan in TiFF, had to purchase the Picture Saver System Program. The program was an additional 2 to 3 hundred dollars. The USB Dongle key is required to run The Picture Saver System Program. Kodak no longer sells or supports this scanner.
Mo’s Video of the Kodak PS50 photo scanner scanning photos of ‘guess who’! YouTube: https://youtu.be/i8L5XZFfl90
Mo adds: As a side GiG, I currently charge 2 cents a scan. (Giz Wiz: That is very inexpensive! And I love having hundreds of my photos in digital form for easy editing right on my computer.)

How To Submit Your Video For The Gadget Warehouse & Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Email of the week.
Steve Davison emails us with an amazing find on the 18-in-1 Snowflake Tool that I paid $12.99 for 2 on Amazon. And mine didn’t even have a hair clip, which no one understands what it has to do with tools! But, it’s included. Price was as of 12/22/22.
Dick/Chad:
Found this, 2 for $5. I’m getting 3 of them. I wondered why it includes a hair clip, but I see it’s a bottle opener, cutter, tiny screwdriver, paperclip, etc. I’m, of course, SteveD in chat.
