Here’s A Handy LED Bulb – Great For Emergencies!

Is there such a thing as a wireless AC outlet? With the Jackonlux LED bulb you can certainly make it look like there is! As saw on World News Now, the bulb comes with a little plastic gadget that looks like a mini outlet. Plug your lamp into it and yes, it will light! That’s because the Jackonlux bulb is a combination of a regular led bulb and a power outage light. It works as regular led bulb when connected to 120V voltage, it will light on automatically if it’s already on and there is power outage. But, it must be connect directly to power, like plugged right into a wall socket. It won’t work with powerstrips for example. It will light when you turn it on and the power is off. This saves the battery if the power goes out while you’re away. Being an LED bulb it uses just 9 watts, but is roughly equivalent to a 60W bulb. I bought the soft white 3000K version. Charging time is 8-10 hours but that happens all the time you’re use the bulb as a regular light. Once it’s fully charged, charging automatically stops. It’s a standard E26 base, just like a regular light bulb you normally use. Included with the bulb is screw on cap. Remove the bulb from a lamp, screw on the cap and control on / off by the built-in push button switch. Strangely you can also use fingers or a wet tissue on the bulb base to turn it on and off. Yes, I tried that too and it works. When there’s a power outage, if the switch is on, the bulb will stay on as emergency led light, if switch is off, the bulb will be off, but you can turn it on and off with lamp switch.

Note: It may not work properly when connected to a powerstrip. But when plugged directly into an outlet it immediately stayed on when I tripped the circuit breaker. It has to be on to stay on. If it’s off, it will stay off until you turn it on. That way if the power goes out while you’re not home the battery will not be wasting power. I bought the two pack for $17.99 on Amazon. It was that price on 10/16/22, but prices on Amazon can change at any time.

Have A Lot Of Old 35MM Slides You’d Like To Digitize?

Well, you can do that at home for very little money. Check out the Rybozen Pic Scanner. It’s a portable, mobile film scanner that works with your smartphone. It’s a barebones plastic folding slide scanner with a built in LED backlight. To use, just insert a slide or negative into the tray, turn on the LED backlight, place the lens of your smart phone over the hole, frame it the way you want, then click to capture. Now you have a digital image you can send to your computer, email, etc. The device folds fold for storage or travel. The company says it’s compatible with 35mm color negatives, 35mm black and white negatives, and 35mm color slides. The free Rybozen app lets you scan, edit, crop, rotate, filter, adjust color and contrast; and share on social media! I downloaded the app and outside of being able to adjust the color, I couldn’t find a way to do anything else. There doesn’t seem to be any instruction guide. But it’s cheap, and it did work on my color slides! Besides, once you have a digital image, you can use it in other apps. Under $20 as of 10/16/22.

Eat Snacks While You Work & Still Keep Your Screen or Keyboard Clean.

I’ve seen these called ‘finger chopstix’ or ‘finger tongs’. And what are they for? When using your mobile phone, computer or tablet, you can eat potato chips, Cheetos or other oily snacks without contaminating your hands. Keeping your hands clean keeps your keyboard and screens clean, or at least cleaner. They easy to use. Just insert the index finger and middle finger into the rounded opening, so that the tongs are placed above the fingers. That lets you control them too hold food without getting your fingers messy. I’ve used them a few things and the learning curve is about one minute to get the hang of using them. And they’re inexpensive, and available in colors. I bought two sets from different vendors with different names, but both sets seem to be exactly the same. The best deal I got was 8 of them for about $8.00. but prices on Amazon can change at any time!

The Capresso H20 Glass Water Kettle has a lot of nice features, like Direct Pour. With Direct Pour you fill the kettle with water without having to remove the lid. The weight of the water hitting the lid opens it for easy filling. It closes when you remove the kettle from the running water. Then there’s multicolored LED temperature indication lights. There are five presets to choose from: 110° F (green), 160° F (blue), 175° F (yellow), 195° F (purple) and 212° F (red). That gives you the right choice for any type of tea you want to brew, or for other uses such as dissolving yeast for home baking at 110F. The kettle is cordless and designed for right- or left-handed use, with an oversized ergonomic handle. It also offers auto-shutoff, boil dry protection and a micro filter spout. MSRP: $49.99.
