When I got an email asking if I would like to have a mask with an image of my mustache on it, I thought that sounded great. I expected them to ask for a photo, but about a week later, such a mask showed up in the mail. (You’ll see it on this week’s show.) A Fun Holiday Sweater Depending On The Size Of Your Smartphone.
When I saw this “fireplace” sweater online I thought I have to buy one, and I did. It’s the Digital Dudz Morph Men’s Fireplace Ugly Christmas Sweater. I don’t know why they call it an ugly Christmas sweater because I think it looks fairly decent, except maybe if you buy the pink version. It’s what you can do with it that makes it so much fun. The company says you download the free Digital Dudz app onto your smartphone, find the Crackling Fireplace animation and then slide the phone into the front-loading pocket. I found two problems. The biggest is that the smartphone pocket is small, about 3″ X 5 1/2″. The only phone I own that fit in it is my old Galaxy S5. Also the app constantly crashes. Many reviews online had the same problem. But it’s easy to get a fireplace video on Youtube. With the small smartphone installed, the sweater looks great. It’s a real attention getting. Chad was going to order one instantly until he realized all his phones are too big for the sweater pocket, which I think will be a problem for many geeks who didn’t hold on to one of their older, smaller smartphones. Some Unique & Whimsical Gadgets To Help You Keep Warm Indoors & Out.
We start with a neat device to keep your ears warm while you listen to music, or take and make phone calls via Bluetooth.
A great gadget for the cold weather is the inexpensive MusiCozy.The company says this is the latest version of Musicozy earmuffs, “Adopting advanced noise reduction technique and the superior stereo loud speakers with balanced super bass, dynamic mid-range & crystal clear high notes”, etc., etc. But since the company makes a lot of cold weather music products and since the packaging is obviously well thought out, I figured they have a more reliable product that those that come in unmarked cardboard boxes. I found the sound quite impressive for the low price. They ship with a carry bag and micro USB charging cable. Connecting the charging cable inside one of the ears pieces was a bit of a chore. There’s also a white clip to hold them in a semi closed position. Note how they fold before you take them out of the box which was unexpectedly flat when they arrived. For a 1 to 2 hour charge, the company says you can expect 10 to 12 hours of music play time. At about $23, these are very decent! The price keeps changing by a buck or two on Amazon, as they always so. There are a lot of other choice on Amazon, so you can check them out and check the reviews too.

A Really Versatile Hand Warmer
With the pretty much unpronounceable name – XIAOQIAO – this is a 4-in-1 Rechargeable Hand Warmer. With a 10000mAh battery, this portable double-sided hand warmer has 3 adjustable heat levels with a digital display. Although the description says: “You can clearly see the temperature on the LCD display: 104℉/122℉/140℉.” I would add that you need to have really good eyesight to be able to read the tiny figures on the very small LCD screen. It also has a USB out jack so you can use the battery power to charge phones, small tablets, etc. at 5V/2A. The company says not to charge a device and use the heater at the same time. Another useful feature is the built in LED flashlight! But wait, there’s more. It also has a built in massage function! On the four functions, I thought this one wasn’t especially useful. It does vibrate, but without much real movement. For all it does I think the price is low.
