Do You Have Precious Old 8mm or Super 8 films You Would Like to View & Save?
Jun 26, 2022

The KODAK REELZ 8mm & Super 8 Films Digitizer Converter can be the answer you’re looking for. I wish I had this several years ago when I was converting my old, old 8mm films to digital form. A ton of years ago I kept an 8mm film camera in the prop room at the NBC studio where we recorded The Match Game. (I wrote the questions for the NY version of that show.) Sometimes I would ask friending, out-going celebrities who appeared on Match Game to do silly :30 to :45 second scenes for a musical satire movie I was making. I ended up with a wonderful 40 minute 8mm movie! I needed to have that movies and others I have transferred to a digital medium before something happened to them since they are totally irreplaceable! I did get a professional lab to do that, but if I had the Kodak Reelz I wouldn’t have worried about the precious film being sent away. This device converts old 8mm & Super 8mm films to digital MP4 files for viewing, sharing & saving on an SD Card. It works with the old 3” 4” 5” & 7” 8mm/Super 8mm reels. Everything is done within the device, no computer or software needed. The fully automated scanner with 8.08-Megapixel sensor captures images in 1080p digital video files. (Of course, there’s no sound, it’s the old 8/Super8 film.) You can use the included micro USB cable to transfer scans to computer, laptop, or smart TV for big-screen viewing. There are a few scanning & editing options via on the 5” built-in LCD Interface. Buttons allow you to zoom, chose film type & adjust exposure, sharpness & tint without the need for external editing equipment. MSRP: $299.99. At Pepcom the spokesperson said a new model is in the works with will take 9” reels and will have a sound option. She did not have a date when they would be available.
