Show #1925 Week of March 2nd 2023
AMAZING! We’ve starting year 18 of The Giz Wiz Show!
The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you’d like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we have no ads) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: https://www.gizwiz.tv
Our first gadget is first of it’s kind I’ve ever seen.
It’s an Electric Ear Wax Removal System. Typical of confusion sometimes on Amazon, the description calls it the Earigator Ear Cleaning Kit. The box it comes in just says Ear Cleaner. The device itself is branded Enifer. The device itself seems very well made. It’s an Electric Ear Irrigation Kit (powered with a rechargeable battery) that offers 4 Pressure Cleaning Modes, 5 LED lights, a basin to catch water as you use it, a towel for your shoulder (to keep it dry) & 9 one-time use tips. It’s said to easily remove accumulated earwax from the comfort of your own home. The handle has a button to start and stop the water flow. A 500ml water bottle and gravity ball straw moves with the liquid allowing you to clean your ears from any angle. Type-C charging port with a 2000 mAh battery that can last up to 7 hours of continuous use on a full charge. On this week’s show I actually do demo using this so you can see it in action! MSRP: $69.99 when I bought mine.. Update: Was $59.99 on 3/4/23. It’s available under many different brand names, at varying prices.

Surprise! Someone built a better mousetrap.
At least, It’s the best designed mousetrap I’ve ever seen.
This Feeke mouse trap is designed as trap for small mice. It’s the easiest trap to set I ever used, with no worries it might snap closed on your fingers. Just put a bait in the little cup you remove from the bottom of the trap. Then put it back in the trap and place the mouse trap where you saw a mouse. Once you place you push down on the end of it which set the spring trap. There’s no fear it’s going to ‘go off’ while you’re putting bait in it, or setting it in place once it’s baited. With powerful stainless steel spring, these traps are suitable to catch small mice. They are reusable if you decide you want to use them again.

For larger mice & (yikes) rats, this trap is listed. I have not used these: https://amzn.to/3IMidwt

It’s Been A While, So We Go Back To Visit “Five Below”.
And we find the Smart Phone Tripod with Selfie Light. It’s a bit of on wonky side, but hey, it’s $5.25 or $5.55 at the Five Below where I bought mine. But I’ve seen it online for $20. The 12 Led Video Light is mounted on an adjustable gooseneck stem. There’s a universal phone mount that had trouble holding Pixel 7 with a 6.3” screen. The legs of the tripod are foldable for travel, but there no height adjustment. The LED lights has 3 brightness settings, but the LED light is bright white, so it doesn’t do anything for skin tones.

The exact one I bought was not online when I checked, but this one is similar:
Five Below — https://www.fivebelow.com/products/exclusive-dixie-charli-led-ring-light-w-table-tripod-universal-phone-holder_2
This seems like a better deal for about $11.00 on Amazon. The tripod becomes a selfie stick, the LED light has warm, natural and white light settings, plus there a remote control for shooting photos. It’s twice price, but I think it offers a lot more features.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
Chad’s Crappy Corner and his new theme for March as picked by our loyal Patreon friends is Spring Gadget For The Yard.
Chad’s 1st Spring Gadget is the Corona MAX WeedSLAYER. This device is designed to removes tough weeds from the root without using chemicals. The heat-treated carbon steel drives into the soil while the T-handle allows you to twist and pull to extract weeds with no bending required.
And Chad’s take? Chad liked that it removed the roots along with the weeds, but as you’ll see in his backyard demo, it does leave a hole in the dirt. Chad bought his at Home Depot for about $40.

This looks like the same gadget from the same company on Amazon for $5 less.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
Last week Mo showed us a new gadget, the Qubii Duo that copies data from your phone onto a micro SD card as you charge your device. That reminded me of a similar device that came out about years ago, but now seems to be gone. I found my Meem Charger Cable and the video about it for our gadget warehouse segment.
From The Giz Wiz Show, JUNE 16, 2017: MEEM is a fresh new take on smartphone back up. It’s a phone charger cable that automatically backs up personal data on a smartphone to the cable. And it does that every time the phone is charged. With people using phones more and more for high quality photos and video and quick text communications, a phone’s storage fills up quickly with precious content and the more personal information stored, the higher the anxiety of losing or having that data stolen is. With MEEM, backing up your smartphone is a simple solution that fits into a daily routine. Just plug in your MEEM (either for an Android or iPhone device) choose and confirm a four-digit PIN and back up of your personal data starts immediately. MEEM keeps personal data safe in your hands, under your physical control, and inaccessible to anyone else. MEEM is available to purchase in the UK, Europe and North America direct through the manufacturer or on Amazon. Prices start at $49.99 for 16GB. Up to 128 GB is available. (on Amazon as of 6/29/17) and will depend on if it’s for iOS or Android and the amount of memory inside.
I have a Meem cable, but the product seems to have disappeared. My computer doesn’t recognize it, so I can’t retrieve whatever files I have on it. Since I tend to back up everything, I most liked copy them off the Meem back when it was still supported.

How To Submit Your Video For The Gadget Warehouse & Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
Email of the week:
Chad & I often talk about all the unpronounceable names of products we find on Amazon. Well, Paul Cg emailed us a list of some REALLY impossible product names he found on Amazon! See if you can pronounce any of them!
Hi Dickie D and Chad,
I’ve been noticing some strange and hard to pronounce company names on Amazon. Here are several (with links):
FSiyouda – Shelves
Egepon – Desk Organizer
CHAOSEND – Remote Switches
CCOCCOZAM -Baby Clothing
Smmvinnr – Security Camera
IIIOIIIA – Stove Shelf – WTF! And if you search for this company the first 19 hits are sponsored links!
Qmmmbr – doesn’t appear to be on Amazon any more. Was men’s clothing.
Pfaltzgraff – Ok, this one’s been around long before Amazon!
