3 Final Gadgets The Giz Wiz Found At Pepcom’s Well Now & Home Now Press Event
When Apple came out with the MagSafe phone they created a whole new market for other companies. Scosche for example, is launching its first ever Kickstarter campaign for their new 3-in-1 MagicMount Hydro. It starts June 12, 2023. The MagicMount Hydro features an adjustable magnetic phone mount that is MagSafe compatible with iPhone models 12 and later. It also can hold pre-MagSafe iPhone models and all Android phones using the included MagicRing Adapter. Four magnets inside the circle will secure the Hydro bottle to any magnetic surface, even when full. Double-wall vacuum insulation for 12+ hours hot, or 24+ hours cold beverage storage. A counter-balance design lets it remains upright, with even a large phone mounted, and the water bottle is empty. An anti-slip soft silicone boot on the base of the MagicMount Hydro protects your bottle and can be removed to use as a water bowl for your dog. Price is expected to be around $45 or so depending on the size of the bottle.

A New Air Fryer With Plenty Of Cooking Space!
It’s the Typhur Dome Air Fryer. The company says their brand-new designed air fryer has 5.6L cooking capacity but offers twice the cooking surface of 6L competitors. It allows users to cook every meal evenly without needing them to constantly check or shake the basket. The temperature of this air fryer can go up to 260°C (500F) plus adjustable fan speed gives users a wider range of ingredients with different functionality, such as Air Fry, Broil, Roast, Bake Reheat etc. The lower heating coil with newly designed internal air flow makes this air fryer at least 30% faster than other similar products. In addition, it also has self-cleaning. By activating a high-temperature cooking time, decomposing grease at up to 230 degrees, allowing for a simple dust out to finalize the clean. The self-cleaning process takes 2 hours, and the decomposed grease will turn into harmless, easily disposed waste. It’s interesting and useful for a possible customer to know this: We aren’t going to oversell them, though – certain types of foods famously do not go well when combined with the appliance. Foods with a wet or batter-like coating, or runny things like scrambled eggs or pancakes, typically yield fairly mediocre results. So exercise some caution! It won’t be your complete one-stop solution.

Got A Pool? You Might Like To Own One of These!
If you have a pool, here are the latest in automatic pool cleaners!
The folks at Seauto say they’re committed to developing the ultimate cable-free cleaning experience for every pool! Categories range from above ground and to in-ground pool cleaners, two of them with sonar! There are three models in their 2023 family. The Roker Plus which is their entry level cordless self parking autonomous cleaner for above ground pools. MSRP $229.99. Then there’s the Seal, a wall and step climbing sonar smart route autonomous pool cleaner. MSRP $699.99. And finally, their most feature-rich pool-cleaning robot, the Shark at $999.99. I imagine keeping a pool clean is not an easy task, so I bet there’s a decent market for these devices. If only they had one that could clean the bottom of a boat! That would be a big seller to boat owners! There’s a full feature list of the pool scrubbers at the company website.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
Chad polled our loyal Patreons and they voted on his new theme for May: Cheap Smartphone Gadgets.
Chad’s final cheap smartphone gadget is the Premier Rearview Mirror Mounted Phone Holder.
Here’s what Walmart says about it: The Premier Universal Rearview Mirror Mounted Phone Holder is an excellent choice for a safe and easy hands-free mobile device experience while driving. Conveniently mounts your smartphone to your rearview mirror while enabling you to adjust the angles to optimize your view and eliminate glare. The expandable arms securely fasten your device even on the bumpiest roads. Enjoy hands-free conversations and GPS, all while keeping your device accessible and within reach while in your vehicle. The Premier Universal Rearview Mirror Mounted Phone Holder is compatible with most mobile phones and GPS devices. It was under $14.00 on 5/27/23..
And Chad’s take: Chad liked this, but then the chatroom started pointing out that mounting devices to a rear view mirror is illegal in many states. Then he saw the reviews which were pretty bad. 2.5 stars out of 5.0. So although he thought it was an ‘alright’ product for the money, he thought it best not to recommend it. It’s at Walmart stores and I saw it online at the link below. (Not an affiliate link.)

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
Our email this week is from Barry Powell who writes:
Hey Guys! Here’s a bit of an almost “what the heck is it” video for you.
Have been trying to put together and send for couple years now (if not longer!), and it’s still not very good but you’re getting it now “as is” as too much time til who knows if ever might manage to make it happen down the line. So, here you go!
Not knowing what they’re called, and with no identifying marks anywhere, I’ve been unable to find any info or mention of anything even remotely similar to them having searched high and low online, but I do remember seeing them when they were first released way back when. As mentioned in the video, maybe on iPad Today or some other show of similar ilk from back then or perhaps one of Chad’s old presentations somewhere.
I scored them a few years ago when I purchased a used Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and the seller had them and kindly included them in the sale for me. I knew what they were right away and was very pleased to have them. They get used constantly and are a wonderful design and implementation (I think at least!).
Keep up the great work you two. Always greatly appreciated.
Barry Powell

How To Submit Your Video For The Gadget Warehouse & Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Email of the week:
Mo emails us that he get The Forever Sponge.
It’s on Kickstarter here:
The Giz Wiz: Strangely I don’t think I would want a forever sponge because I think at some point it has to start getting yucky, but that’s just my feeling.
