Last week I did a review of the TYZU fan. After I bought that fan Amazon let me know about another similar fan. It seemed to do the same thing, but it was $7 cheaper after using the $4 off coupon. Meet the SHOMOTE Piggy Bank w/ Auto Scroll Paper Money. In this digital age where everything seems to require a password, why not get the kids up to speed by needing one to open this bank. Kids can deposit bills & change without a password, but you’ll need one to get money out. (But it doesn’t have a function that shows how much you’re putting, or a total of what’s in the bank.) This is like a fun ATM for kids 6 & up. Besides cash and coins, kids also can put small personal precious items inside for save keeping. You’ll need your own 4 digital password to open the bank and you can use 0-0-0-0, or reset it to your own 4 digit password. A red LED light & voice lets you know when you enter the wrong password. A green LED light flashes with enter the correct password and the safe door unlocks. There’s music too, a total of ten different tunes. It runs on 3 AA batteries (not included). There are many vendors selling this bank all the way up to about $30+. The cheapest I found was $16.99 for the silver version and $19.99 for the black or other color versions.

Chad polled our loyal Patreons and they voted on his new theme for April. And that theme is “Cheap Gadgets for the Bathroom”. Chad’s 2nd cheap gadget is the Holikme 4Pack Drill Brush Power Scrubber w/extender.

And Chad’s take: Chad liked this, especially for the price. As you’ll see on this week’s show, one of the brushes was missing some bristles. But for under $8, it should work fairly well. You’ll see Chad do a demo, but it won’t in his bathroom. He didn’t want to gross anybody out. I’m pretty sure he said that as a joke. 🙂

If no one sends in a video we can always rely on Mo Torres, our most loyal gadget lover to find something new to make a video about. Mo emails us: The video is about a neat flexible cable cover by UT Wire. I asked Mo what exactly is he using it for and here’s his reply: The cables i am covering are cat 6a, braided flat Ethernet cables. They are rated at 10 GiG capacity, at up to 300 feet. I have Verizon fios, which is totally fiber, & i have 1 Gig up & down service. I needed to upgrade, because Verizon is upgrading their service, in my area in Woodside Queens, to 2 GiG speed. I had cat 5, but even though that may work, I didn’t want to chance it, I wanted to future proof. I will also be upgrading to 10 GiG / 2.5 GiG switches. Via The Giz Wiz: Mo bought the 15’ roll, but I saw a 5 & 10’ version also available.

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
