The Giz Wiz #2074: Chad & Dick Pick Their Best Gadgets of 2025
Chad & I looked at all the gadgets we reviewed in 2025 and picked our favorite for this 1st show of 2026.

The Neakasa Magic 1 Vacuum Steamer
The Magic 1 Steamer is easy an impressive product. With something they call AirIron Technology, that creates suction, this steam can deeply penetrate fabrics as it suction draws it back toward the steamer instantly. It delivers maximum steam efficiency, at the same time, cool air flows in to rapidly cool and shape the fabric, triple the performance of traditional steamers. The auto-grip fabric feature allows one-handed operation with no burn risk. Chad was totally impressed with this totally new way to steam out wrinkles. It was on Amazon for under $90 on 1/9/26, a long way from the origianl MSRP $149.99 That price can change at any time.

2. Dick thought PlayhouseMD gadgets are so inventive and useful!
You’ll hear the whole story of how these products came into being on this week’s show. But basically, these ingenious products were designed by doctors and inspired by kids. But, they’re made for parents. 3. Chad picks the 3-In-1 Wireless Magnetic Travel Charger 15W
Chad, me and the chatroom liked this a lot. Yes, it was in Five Below’s beyond $5 price category, but still way below what we all thought it would cost. It’s the 3-in-one Wireless Magnetic Travel Charger – a travel essential that’s said to be pure genius. Five Below says it Qi compatible. Includes wireless charger, type-c charging cable & user manual. Chad loves this! And the unbelievable price was only $10.00. Online and at stores. It was still on the Five Below website as of 1/9/2026

4. Dick’s pick for #4 is the new Arrow Box-cutting Scissors
The new Arrow 2-in-1 Box-cutting Scissors features 8-inch non-stick coating blades, and something unique in scissors. A beveled tip at the end of the blades. This beveled edge allows for easy box opening and tape slicing with the scissors safely closed. I tried a pair on two different taped closed boxes and it worked very well. They are just reaching the market place now. MSRP: $8.99

Best Gadgets # 5 & 6
For #5 Chad picked the EveryYay Adjustable Seat Belt.
The one Chad bought is pretty much the same as the one for sale at Petco. This adjustable seat belt latches directly into rear seat belt. Petco says it’s good for pets up to 100 pounds. You’ll see Chad and a very well-behaved Toast dog doing the hook-up demo in the back seat of Chad’s car. It’s $9.99 at Petco. Amazon has a ton of them too, priced from $6 and up.

6. The Giz Wiz Bought and Uses Adobe Podcast Premium
Boy, can this save time if you’re a podcast or video producer. It’s called Adobe Podcast Premium. (There’s a free version too.) From the company: Record, edit, and enhance your voice without downloading any software. Use Adobe Podcast right in the browser. Enhance spoken audio with just one click. Adobe Podcast’s AI can make voice recordings sound as if they were recorded in a professional studio. As you’ll on this week’s show I think this an amazing help in removing background noise and improving the voice on videos recorded in noisy environments. I will be buying this app after the free trial, at $99.99 a year, plus taxes depending on where you live.

7. Chad finds the Onn 4K Streaming Device which turns out to be quite amazing and amazingly cheap!
The Onn 4K Streaming Device with Google TV is listed on Walmart as a: Fast Streaming, Ultra HD, 8GB Storage, 2GB RAM, Remote with Voice Control.” Chad bought his at his local Walmart. Chad explains a lot of what it can do in his video, link below. The price really surprised me and the chatroom. It cost less that $20, and there’s a cheaper, and a more expensive version available, depending on what features you want.

To get the fastest and most reliable speeds between my Fios modem and my computer, hard wired was the way to go. Since my laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet input, we were going wirelessly. But during the show I had a few drop outs between Chad’s connection and mine, so we decided to go back to wired. To have the latest technology and a lot more ports, I bought the Anker 6-in-1 USB C Hub. I paid $39.99 on Amazon, where it got very decent reviews from more than 3,000 people. UPDATE: As of 1/9/26, the price was $8 less, at $31.99 – but that can change at any time.

It’s the resqme (rescue me) Original Emergency Keychain Car Escape Tool.
This is a handy, very inexpensive 2-in-1 Seatbelt Cutter and Window Breaker tool every car should have. There’s a razor sharp seat belt cutter that Chad does a great demo of. There’s also a tempered glass window breaker. It’s spring-loaded and resets after each use. The makes the resqme reusable multiple times. It was under $10 on Amazon with a pair of them selling for even less.
