AMAZING! We’ve in year 18 of The Giz Wiz Show!

The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. We started the show with a “What The Heck Is It?” Gadget.

And the Giz Wiz says: It does cut bagels nicely. Even thick bagels, like the ones I buy at Tal on the upper west side in Manhattan. But I think there’s a learning curve because that blade is sharp. You can get the hang of it pretty quickly if you start out slow. And although the company says it’s easy to store in a drawer, it is on the bigger side as you’ll see on this week’s show. But I will continue to use it. I paid $19.99 on Amazon. And it was still that price as of 6/3/23,

It’s the TOPOINT Sleep Bluetooth Headphones. This sleep mask contains white noise and sleep inducing sound effects, like birds, ocean sound, fire, rain, etc. Bluetooth 5.2 connection, offers hands-free operation with built-in microphone. The sleeping mask is made of silk, which feels lightweight and breathable. I found it totally blocks out light and the sound is excellent, especially for price! You can even remove the speakers and mini control panel if you want to wash the mask. There’s even an auto off function with three time settings: 30 mins, 90 mins, 120 mins. My problem, which may not be yours. This mask does a lot of things, but mainly using just 3 buttons, so you’ll need to learn about ‘long press’ then ‘short press’, etc. and you’ll be doing it by feel since your eyes will be totally covered. But once you learn the steps for the features you need to use, I expect you’ll be satisfied, because the rating on his mask are really good and from they’re from thousands of customers. Hello Gentlemen, How are you doing?  I have been having trouble sleeping recently and was at a recent garage sale and picked up a USB powered sound machine.   I also was gifted one from a friend that is battery powered.   I gave one to my son Adam to use and kept the other one for myself.  I think they work pretty well but I realize that any modern smartphone app can probably do the same thing.  The good news one from a gift and the other only cost me a dollar. Hope all it well- keep up the great work.

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
