AMAZING! We’ve in year 18 of The Giz Wiz Show!

The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. We started the show with a “What The Heck Is It?” Gadget.

It was hard to figure from it’s small size that it was a Jkwokback Mini-Foldable Beach Table. It’s ultralight aluminum, ideal for outdoor picnics on the grass or on the sand at the beach. It has short legs, but they’re high enough to keep the food off the ground, and sturdy enough that drinks won’t fall over. The company says the beach table weighs 1.8 pounds overall and comes with a black drawstring storage bag. It was a couple of ounces less than that on my postage scale. It takes up little space and is easy to carry. There are no instructions but once you see me unfold it and fold it back up again on this week’s show, you’ll know how to do. No tools are needed. It’s a clever design. The company says it’s waterproof and rust-proof and even with food and grease stains, it can be easily wiped and cleaned. It’s comes in 3 colors and was about $17.00 on 6/9/23.

I had a safe deposit box at the bank but when the price went up to use it, I thought I’d buy this AIRE Fireproof Document Bag Set. It includes a Large Bag(17″x12″x6″) and a Money Bag (5″x8″) The company says it’s 100% fireproof up to 2300℉, with waterproofed sealing. It’s certainly looks sturdy and it’s said to be made of that premium fireproof silicone coated fiberglass with a durable aluminum foil interior. It can better protect your valuables in various extreme situations, such as fires, floods, hurricanes, etc.

But does protect things well? Be sure to watch this week’s show to see how the smaller money bag fared after a run in a counter top dishwasher and a few minutes on a lit burner of my stove. On 6/8/23 it was $39.99 on Amazon as of 6/9/23.

HERE’S WHERE ALMOST EVERYONE IN THE CHATROOM AGREED: Don’t put anything into your ear, or be VERY, VERY CAREFUL if you do! And Chad’s take: Chad was happy it came with the 3 LR44 batteries installed. He also liked that you could magnify pieces with added light from the LED. He most liked that you could use it as scoop to lift puzzle pieces or whole sections easily. He wasn’t happy that the magnifying glass seemed a bit beat up and had no protective cover to peel off on it. But the price was very good and someone in chat already told me they’re buying it for their senior citizen mom who loves puzzles. You’ll see his complete demo on this week’s show.

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.

And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! Managed to catch the show #1937 with my crappy video (looked even worse than I remembered! – yuck!) for the WingClip keyboard/iPad holder clips. ScooterX is the bomb!

2 minutes in and ScooterX has found the original device from summer 2011 (CultofMac /Kickstarter/ iClarified). I’d searched high and low and came up with nothing. ScooterX gets on it and within minutes, kaboom!!! The exact device. Pretty freakin’ cool indeed.

Just wanted to pass along my admiration. What a sleuth!
