Show #1947 Week of August 3rd 2023
AMAZING! We’ve in year 18 of The Giz Wiz Show!
The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you’d like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we have zero ads) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page. There’s a PayPal link there too. Thank you! www.gizwiz.tv.
A first for The Giz Wiz Show — All 4 of the Giz Wiz gadgets Chad and I talk about on this show are “What The Heck Is It?” gadgets!
WTHII #1 is the Becaskly Automatic Shoe Covers Dispenser. That’s right, it’s designed to put an Indoors disposable booties on each foot when you step into the device with your shoes on! The company says: The One Size Shoe Cover Can Protect Floors for House, Office, Hospital, Factory, etc. Setting it up took a bit of work. But we mostly got it to work the way it should. I’m wearing size 10.5 shoes in the video, so my guess is it will probably work for a shoe up to a man’s size 11 shoes. And of course women’s shoes up to an equivalent size. The shoe cover machine does not require power and it comes with 200 shoes covers for covering 100 pairs of shoes. It was under $40 as of 8/5/2023 on Amazon.

What The Heck Is It? #2
This gadget is called Heat-It and according to Amazon it’s a “Smartphone-Powered Insect Bite Healer – Chemical-Free Relief from Itching & Pain just with Concentrated Heat – for Android and Apple iPhones. Treat itch and pain of bites and stings caused by mosquitoes, bees, wasps, bugs and horseflies. Chad and I liked this gadget a lot because it does exactly what a gadget we did two years ago called “Bite Away” does, but in a tiny size that hangs on a keychain. You’ll see a complete demo on this week’s show. It was priced at $39.99 for Android or iPhone as of 8/5/2023.

What The Heck Is It? #3
This was one of the weirdest “What The Heck Is It?” gadgets ever. I really didn’t understand it when I first saw a photo of it on Amazon, so I bought one to see exactly what it did. It’s the Cocosun Waist Fan, a combination fan, external battery charger (via the built-in 10000 mAh battery), an LED light, an SOS light, and Emergency Beacon. The 3-speed portable cooling fan is designed so it that can be used INSIDE your tee-shirt. Yes, it’s all very weird. Even Chad couldn’t see exactly what this was designed for. Watch this week’s show to see it and hear all our comments. It was about $35 on 8/5/23, but Amazon prices can change at any time.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
Chad polled our loyal Patreons and they voted on his new theme for August. That winning theme is “Cheap Gadgets As Seen On Shark Tank”.
Chad turned his 1st item into a WTHII gadget and none of us in chat had a clue as to what it did. Turns out it solves a problem if you wear eyeglasses (or sunglasses) and they keep sliping down. It’s called Nerdwax and it’s said to be an anti-slip eyewear retainer. It turns any glasses into non-slip glasses by creating a layer of friction between your glasses and skin. Apply when needed – keeps your glasses in place 1 hour to all day depending on how much you apply.
And Chad’s take? Chad like this product. You’ll see him give it very decent test on this week’s show. It certainly seems effective. And at $9.99 it’s not expensive. My eyeglasses are forever slipping down, so I’m going to order a tube of NerdWax too.

Letter of the week from Mark:
Got loads of the franklin handheld word devices at least 5 different ones, along with their ‘Encyclopedia’ that isn’t updatable, cost me over £400 about 20 years ago.
I also have a sony data discman (and a few discs somewhere) which was unbelievable at the time.

Chad mentioned this, but don’t think he knows you can buy one…
