AMAZING! We’ve in year 18 of The Giz Wiz Show!
The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you’d like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we have no ads) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: www.gizwiz.tv.
We start the show with a look at some the high tech gadgets coming from Anker this year and into next year! At the time of writing this, only the Reserve Power Bank was now on sale. And there are a couple of preorder links here. Some items are coming out until 2024. Here’s a brief, not complete, summary. (There were dozens of new introductions.)
The new Anker Prime series is headlined by the new 67-watt, 100-watt and 250-watt USB-C chargers, as well as the Anker Prime 250-watt power bank featuring a 100-W wireless charging base. Retail availability and pricing for these Anker Prime charging accessories are slated to be released in July 2023.
In addition, Anker officially launched the Anker Reserve Power Bank, a perfect accessory for the great outdoors, featuring a 60,000 mAh LiFeP04 battery, two USB-C and two USB-A ports, as well as a standard XT 60 solar plug compatible with solar panels ranging from 10-24 volts. It also features a pop-up, adjustable light source, perfect for a campsite or backyard BBQ. The Anker Reserve Power Bank is actually available now for $169.99

The What The Heck Is It? Gadget on this show was —
The Voligo Fast Heating Pad.
Info via Amazon: – This warm heating pads uses the newly upgraded graphene technology, heating device, it only takes three seconds to heat up and increase temperature. It just need to be fully charged in time, you can enjoy warmth. 3 high-frequency vibration massage modes and 3 levels of heating. You can turn on heating and massage at the same time. Automatically shut down in 10 minutes. Use time 2-5 hours when full power. You can use this back heat pad in bed, working, cooking, indoor or outdoor anytime anywhere.
Info via the chatroom: I didn’t like this device mainly because the heating pad is so small, but the women in chat said I was missing it’s main use. Let’s just say — it’s something women would have a use for, that men wouldn’t. They might like this for use maybe once a month as someone remarked in chat. I believe at least one lady in chat ordered the device as soon as they watch the video and saw it.

Add a DVD Player & A Lot More To Your New Computer.
My spouse, Dennis brought a DVD to the studio and asked if he could watch it on my wide screen computer monitor. No surprise my new Lenovo Legion PC has no DVD drive. Nor my laptops. So I thought I buy a new Hyripe 7 IN 1 USB DVD BURNER/PLAYER since I didn’t know where my old external DVD device was. They’re really inexpensive, like under $20. But I thought I’d see if there was another new in external DVD drives and I found one that adds far more than a player/recorder. My new External DVD Drive is USB 3.0 Type-C DVD Player/Recorder with 4 USB Ports and an SD Card Reader. The company says it’s compatible with Laptop and Desktop Windows Machines, MacBook, and Linux. But it doesn’t work with a Chromebook. It’s a bit more expensive, but it was still under $30 and it’s like adding a convenient hub to your system. As you’ll see on this week’s show, the new DVD device arrived with bend in the door, so I’m returning it for a new one.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
Chad polled our loyal Patreons and they voted on his new theme for June. That winning theme is Cheap Hobby & Craft Gadgets.
Chad’s 3rd Cheap Hobby & Craft Gadget is Royal & Langnickel Travel Watercolor Art Set FlipKit with Aqua-Flo Brush.
From Walmart: Create endless combinations of color! Ideal for any level artist! Beginner to advanced. CONTENTS – 19 pc travel-friendly Watercolor Art Set – 18 Watercolors, 1 Aqua-Flo Pen, easy to create endless variations of colors and mixing combinations!
And Chad’s take: Chad liked this kit a lot. He loved that the colors he used were vibrant and deep. He also liked the Aqua-Flo pen that carries water inside. He actually created a few really little canvases right on the show. The chatroom thought this was clever too. It’s an easy kit to take just about anywhere. And really inexpensive, under $12. Chad bought his at Walmart. He also bought the mini-canvases he painted on the show at Walmart. They were like a $1 or less!

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
Our email this week is from Faye, Emily & Rackeey. “They have a What The Heck Is It?”
They write:
Our second submission for Dick’s Gadget Warehouse (we did a Mr Frosty last year). It’s a bit of a what the heck is it too, plus I couldn’t demo it as it pretty much would destroy what I would test it on! I’ve linked the Amazon page and the company’s demo video too. Hope it’s ok! Keep up the great work, really love the show.

How To Submit Your Video For The Gadget Warehouse & Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
