AMAZING! We’ve in year 18 of The Giz Wiz Show!
The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you’d like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we have zero ads) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page. There’s a PayPal link there too. Thank you! www.gizwiz.tv.
At Five Below, We Spend Five Above!
Meet the Traxx Prismatic Projector Wireless Speaker. it’s NEW, and it’s beyond $5, but by just a couple of bucks. It was $7 and I think you’ll agree when you watch this week’s show it doesn’t quite live up to “A sparkling glow with a prismatic projector speaker! Listen to your fave tunes via Bluetooth while lighting up your space in the raddest way possible.” The Bluetooth speaker has very decent sound for the price, but the powered light, needs something. Like power and light! It has a single rather dim LED. It’s USB-powered, with a cable in the box. You’ll need to add your own AC plug, or power it from a computer or external battery pack. 7.5in (H) x 3.54in diameter.

More LED Lights – And More Action Too
At Burlington (they dropped ‘coat factory’ from their name) waiting online is made more fun because both sides of the aisles are filled with close-outs. When I saw the Art+Sound Three-Piece Party Pack, I couldn’t resist buying one. The Burlington store is right next door to Five Below and since I had one LED gadget in my bag already, I couldn’t resist 3 more! In the box was a spinning mirrored ball with LED lights, a multi-color spinning LED light, and a rotating blue beacon light (Like something you might see on the roof of a mini-police car.) They’re small, but fun, as you see on this week’s show. The price wasn’t bad either, $12.99 for the set. Each one of the three requires 3AA batteries, not included.

A Waterfall Of Smoke? How Can That Be?
The video for this product on Amazon looked very interesting, so I bought one. It’s the INONE Ceramic Waterfall Backflow Incense Holder. Here’s how it works: After the incense cone starts to burn, the smoke rolls down the device like a waterfall. It looks very mysterious. The smoke takes a couple of minutes to start, but all that time the fragrance helps freshen the air. And it’s said to “calm emotions, relieve anxiety and fatigue – and help sleep”. I don’t know about that, but I can say the smoke effect is great, as is the aroma. You’ll see it working on this week’s show. In the box you get the incense burner, 120 incense cones (Scents: Rose, Ambergris, Lily, Lavender, Osmanthus), a protection mat to put under the burner and a metal tweezers. It was just about $16.00 when I bought mine and it comes in various colors.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
Chad polled our loyal Patreons and they voted on his new theme for August. That winning theme is “Cheap Gadgets As Seen On Shark Tank”.
Chad’s Final Cheap Gadget As Seen On Shark Tank is the Spatty Daddy Kitchen Spatula Set.
From the company: The Spatty and Spatty Daddy are 6 and 12 Inch tiny kitchen spatulas that scrape empty up to 25% more grocery food product for you. Trust the original miniature multipurpose tiny tool to reach deep to cleanout every last drop from your jelly jar, ketchup bottle, mustard, honey, peanut butter, BBQ sauce, mayo, etc.
And Chad’s take: Chad was underwhelmed with these, especially since the larger one arrived cracked. You’ll see his demo on this week’s show. He felt they didn’t scoop out enough of a food volume from the bottom of a jar or bottle to make the effort worthwhile. But, he did think there might be other uses for them which the chatroom helped supply. Chad paid $9.99 on Amazon, but is returning them because one is broken.

Letter of the week:
On this weeks podcast, I listened to your questions regarding the special power strip requirements for cruise ships.
For many years I worked on a government contract that had us installing electronic equipment on military ships. The APC UPS equipment that we installed, had to modified to meet the special power requirements of ships. These modifications included an additional power switch that disconnects the voltage and neutral wires when the power switch is turned off. Normal power switches only disconnect the voltage wire. This change is required because ships do not offer a true earth ground so the neutral takes a more important role.
The surge protectors built into normal power strips might have issues with the lack of a proper ground.
Thanks, Eric Paul
