Three final gadgets from one of my favorite press events in NYC: Pepcom’s “Holiday Spectacular!”
We start with a gadget I have never ever seen at a trade show!
I was really surprised to see a chicken coop at the tech trade show. But, this is no ordinary chicken coop. It’s the state-of-the-art Smart Coop! Here’s some info from the company. Protect, watch and tend to your flock – right from your phone, from anywhere. Manage every smart feature through our Coop App: non-stop 24/7 live streams, remote monitoring, and intelligent event recording from our dual cameras. Accommodates 4 to 6 chickens: 28 square feet of total floor space, 2 nesting areas, and 60 inches of roosting space. Automated, smart coop door opens with sunrise and closes with sunset, and comes with one-tap manual override. Upper and lower ventilation for hot summers, and double-walled paneling for cold winters. Complete details at the company website: MSRP: $1995.00.

This Bar Is Designed To Keep Germs Out!
(Info from the company) The AURA Ion Bar represents a significant leap in air safety technology. By harnessing the power of negative air ions, the Ion Bar ensures clean air without the need for constant filter replacements, making it a more sustainable and cost-effective choice for maintaining superior indoor air quality.” Designed to create a protective sheet of air enriched with a high concentration of NAIs, Ion Bar acts as an invisible barrier by blocking contaminants before they enter a space, and by removing contaminants from the breathing zone. NAIs are a powerful disinfectant and completely harmless to humans, pets and furnishings. Independent lab results have shown the Ion Bar™ to reduce SARS-CoV-2 by at least 99.95%. In comparison, a properly-fitted N-95 mask only blocks 95% of pathogens or about 1/100th of the stopping power of AURA Ion Bar™, meaning for the first time since COVID-19, people can move through their world with greater peace of mind. At Pepcom, the spokesperson said a price was still be determined since Ion Bar will not be available until 2024. I asked about a ‘ballpark figure’, but she said that has not been determined either. However, it sure sounds like a much-needed gadget considering on Covid is hanging on!

Chad’s Crappy Corner
Chad polled our loyal Patreons and they voted on his new theme for October. And that winning theme is Things That Glow In The Dark.
Chad final gadget that glows in the dark is the Glow in the Dark Stanley Straw Cap Covers.
Via Amazon: Straw caps are suitable for all types of straws with an outer diameter of 10mm, the inner diameter of the straw caps is 0.4 inch (10mm). They are tight enough not to fall off easily. Made of food grade silicone material BPA free, durable, dishwasher safe and reusable. (Please note that the glowing decoration should absorb enough light before it can glow in the dark). You will get 6 different Halloween glow in the dark decorations. Chad paid $5.99, so it came to about $1 for each one.
And Chad’s take? Chad thought these were great fun and you’ll see his demo on this week’s show. He also liked the price a lot. He had his doubts about one of them and you’ll see on the show too. Amazon link below.
But wait, there’s more! For the demo Chad also bought a set of Hiware 8 extra long glass straws (4 bent + 4 straight + 2 cleaning brushes). Amazon says they’re made of lead-free borosilicate glass, eco friendly, no metal aftertaste, plastic free, BPA free, dishwasher safe, reusable and environmentally friendly. Chad liked these a lot, especially for they’re value. He paid just $5.99 for the pack of 8 glass straws w/2 cleaning brushes.
