The Giz Wiz #2084, Recorded Thursday March 19, 2026
On February 20th, 2026 The Giz Wiz Show reached it’s 20th Anniversary! It’s one of the longest running podcasts in the country! And in all those years, the quality never changed. It never got better! But we do have fun gadgets, a great chatroom, and actually learn stuff, sometimes!
We Start The Show With A WTHII —
Yes, it’s a What The Heck Is It? And hopefully Chad and the chatroom won’t figure it out too quickly. But since you’re reading this after the reveal, it won’t be a spoiler alert when I tell you that gadget in the photo is Osord Adjustable Raised Cat Food Bowl.
I don’t have a cat, but from the photo, I thought it would be a fun What The Heck Is It? gadget. Here’s the info from Amazon: Revolutionary 2-in-1 Tilt & Raise Cat Bowl:Finally, an ergonomic raised cat food bowls that does DOUBLE DUTY: Switch between flat and a vet-recommended 15° tilt to reduce neck strain, plus four adjustable heights. It was $16.99 on 3/21/26 on Amazon:

The 360 degree toothbrush that arrived from Amazon 1 day & was send back the next day!
I bought the Yeklike Automatic Electric Toothbrush because it offered two kinds of brush heads.
The box contained three 360 degree u-shaped brush heads and two straight handle brush heads. I thought family members could pick the brush they wanted each time they brushed their teeth. But watch the video is see what you’re expected to do to change brush heads. And charging this is really inconvenient too. I bought it and returned it the day after the opened the box and checked it out. You’ll the whole story on this week’s show. It was $29.99 as of 3/21/26.

Not Another WTHII, but something new – A “WTHDYBT?”
Yes, something new. Chad pretty much guessed what that short cut means. It’ for a “Why The Hell Did You Buy That???” Gadget!
This looked like a disco in box gadget. The XO Poppy Disco Ball info said: “Elevate your gatherings with the Disco Ball Wireless Speaker, the ultimate party accessory that combines music and mesmerizing visuals.” Basically it features a rotating disco ball surrounded by multicolor LED lights. The speaker connects via Bluetooth for your music. You can place this on a flat surface or hang it from the ceiling with the built in hook. A USB charging cord is included. There are some downsides. Which the video to see what the real disco effect looks like. I thought it was okay bargain for the the $12.00 I paid, but then I found it online for under $5! Link below.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
Our email this week is from long time fans and Patreon supporters, Jeff and his son, Adam. They write:
Good Evening Gentlemen,
How are you doing? I wanted to share this cool device I recently picked up from the Goodwill store. I thought it was very interesting because of the screen and it kind of reminds me of a Kindle. If you are a book lover who also likes to know what time it is, then this is the gift for you. It sells for $209 on Amazon. Let me know what you think, keep it the great work! Jeff and Adam

From the Giz Wiz: That device is called the Authors Clock and what an impressive find that was! I just checked and that device is still $209.00 an Amazon. Jeff bought it for $5 at his local Goodwill store!

Letter of the week:
I thought this sounded interesting. It’s a press release I receive about a gadget called Enclave. It’s a private social network that runs from a physical device inside your home. No cloud storage. No ads. No data tracking. No public discovery. It’s a one-time $129 purchase. Families own the hardware and the network outright. No subscriptions. No renewals. No recurring fees.
Sounded interesting, so I shaved the info with Chad and the chatroom. I have no affiliation with the company. If you want to check it out, their website is: https://www.enclayve.com/#how_works_it
