It’s 2024 Time To Take A Peek At What Chad & I Thought Were The Worst Gadgets of 2023.
From Chad’s Cheap Hobby & Craft Gadgets Theme, it’s the Magic Bean Garden Kit.
Info from the company: Create your own gardening magic! Paint, decorate and grow a magic bean garden to reveal surprise messages on the pods. Quick growing, magical “sword beans” sprout within a week to reveal a surprise message engraved on the pods!
And Chad’s take: Chad had a lot of fun painting the included flower pot, planting the seeds and decorating the top of the soil. But since it takes about a week for the beans to sprout, we’ll have to wait until the next show to see the actual results. But kids should have a lot of fun with kit for under $15.00.

This was one of the weirdest “What The Heck Is It?” gadgets ever.
I really didn’t understand it when I first saw a photo of it on Amazon, so I bought one to see exactly what it did. It’s the Cocosun Waist Fan, a combination fan, external battery charger (via the built-in 10000 mAh battery), an LED light, an SOS light, and Emergency Beacon. The 3-speed portable cooling fan is designed so it that can be used INSIDE your tee-shirt. Yes, it’s all very weird. Even Chad couldn’t see exactly what this was designed for. Watch this week’s show to see it and/or watch The Giz video at the link below. It was about $40.00 on 1/5/24. Amazon prices can change at any time.
UPDATE: Although there are not a lot of reviews on Amazon, it did get 4.6 out of 5 stars from 87 people, so this seems to work well for some.

A Projector That Really Doesn’t Project + Spatty & Spatty Daddy! Be Eaten!
At Five Below, We Spend Five Above!
Meet the Traxx Prismatic Projector Wireless Speaker. it’s NEW, and it’s beyond $5, but by just a couple of bucks. It was $7 and I think you’ll agree when you watch this week’s show it doesn’t quite live up to “A sparkling glow with a prismatic projector speaker! Listen to your fave tunes via Bluetooth while lighting up your space in the raddest way possible.” The Bluetooth speaker has very decent sound for the price, but the powered light, needs something. Like power and light! It has a single rather dim LED. It’s USB-powered, with a cable in the box. You’ll need to add your own AC plug, or power it from a computer or external battery pack. 7.5in (H) x 3.54in diameter. It was still $7 as of 1/5/24

Chad’s Final Cheap Gadget As Seen On Shark Tank is the Spatty Daddy Kitchen Spatula Set.
From the company: The Spatty and Spatty Daddy are 6 and 12 Inch tiny kitchen spatulas that scrape empty up to 25% more grocery food product for you. Trust the original miniature multipurpose tiny tool to reach deep to cleanout every last drop from your jelly jar, ketchup bottle, mustard, honey, peanut butter, BBQ sauce, mayo, etc.
And Chad’s take: Chad was underwhelmed with these, especially since the larger one arrived cracked. You’ll see his demo on this week’s show. He felt they didn’t scoop out enough of a food volume from the bottom of a jar or bottle to make the effort worthwhile. But, he did think there might be other uses for them which the chatroom helped supply. Chad paid $9.99 on Amazon, but is returning them because one is broken.

Also From Shark Tank: The Edible Spoon.
First info from the company website: According to National Geographic, in the U.S., more than 100 million plastic utensils are used every day, and 91% of biodegradable and compostable plastic ends up in landfill rather than having the chance to be reused or recycled. By 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans. IncrEDIBLE Spoons are taking the step in the right direction to reduce this waste, and it truly is the only zero footprint option. These vegan, non-GMO, and natural spoons come in 8 flavors, many being savory, sweet, or plain, including: Oregano, Chili, Black Pepper, Indian, Masala, Vanilla, Cocoa, Plain (flavorless).
And Chad’s take: Chad was very excited about this, as were the folks on Shark Tank. Chad was not quite as excited after he ate his 1st spoon. In his video you’ll see how the spoon worked as a spoon used to consume hot soup, how they tasted, and even how they survive after they’re shipped to a customer! And the ‘sale price’ on their website!!

Tactical Survival Tool — (If You Have A Lot of Time During An Emergency.)
My Paracord Wristband could also be a gadget warehouse item because I’ve had it for probably 15+ years. But when I checked on Amazon, it’s not only still available, there are dozens of similar items for sale. They’re sold mostly as Tactical Survival Tools and since I wasn’t wearing mine anymore, I thought I’d see just how helpful it could be. My thought was – ‘if you needed some heavy duty line to quickly tie something down, or use as an emergency tourniquet, you would quickly unwind your bracelet and you would be set to go. Wow, that is NOT the case. Watch this week’s show to see what the process is before you get to use the roughly 10’ of Mil-Spec 350 Paracord. There are many buying options on Amazon, but this one seems closest to the one I bought all those years ago. They were two for about $12.00 on Amazon on 1/5/24

Did The Giz Wiz Get Hosed?
Two dock boxes in my backyard were really caked with crud. So I bought the High Pressure Power Washer Spray Nozzle Garden Hose Wand on Amazon to clean things up! The description said: Includes 2 Nozzles: a jet stream and a fan spray. You can change the water spraying method to meet your different needs. It can meet the needs of washing cars, trucks, floors, cleaning windows and watering gardens. Pressure is related to domestic water pressure, no electricity and no power is required. So did it actually blast dirt away from tires, cars, outdoor furniture, etc.? I tried in my backyard on the two very dirty large dock boxes. Watch my video to see this ‘power washer’ in use! It was under $14.00 on 1/5/24.

From Chad’s “Cheap Gadgets That Look Like They Shouldn’t Work!”
This turned out to be a gadget that actually didn’t work for Chad. It’s the Mirai Clinical Magnetic Soap Holder. The object here is to push what looks like a bottle cap, into the bar of soap. That bottle cap device is magnetic. Then you stick the second part of this device to a wall in your shower. Now you have a place to hang your soap so it’s not making a mess in a wet soap dish. Chad loves the idea, but hates the way this works. It might be soap he tried it on. No matter, because the Mirai Magnetic Soap Holder is no longer available. There’s a similar one at link below. I think it looks like it might work better, so I ordered one. (I haven’t tried it yet.) These soap holder devices are priced around $10.
