Giz Wiz Show #1974, Thursday February 8, 2024
This month we celebrate our 18th Anniversary of the show!!
The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you’d like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we have zero ads) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page. There’s a PayPal link there too. Thank you! www.gizwiz.tv.
We’re done with gadgets from CES 2024, but I did find a gadget at the NY 2024 Boat Show!
Here’s the 1st of our What The Heck Is It? Gadgets on the show. Take a guess before you read on.
I was impressed about how small and convenient this collapsible seat was. It’s called the Cyclone Seat. Chris, the guy at the boat show did a great demo and sales pitch. At the show I recall it was like $40, but cheaper if you bought 2 or 3. Later that night I was searching for the company website when a host of other collapsible seats came up on Amazon. They looked exactly the same as the one I saw at the boat show and the specs were about the same, except for one that boasted it could hold even more than 400 pounds. BUT, they were far less in cost than the one in the video. So I’m putting a link to the Amazon page where you can find one for under $20 & also the link to Cyclone Seat which is one in the video.

Okay, What The Heck Is It?
Look at the photo before reading on if you want to play!!
That WTHII is the Amagle Magnetic Door Open Sensor. This magnetic sensor light has auto-on once you open the door, drawer, etc. and then auto-off once you close the it. It’s easy to install in closets, drawers, wardrobes, cabinets, etc. with the included 3M strips. Uses 2 AAA batteries for each light (Not Included). Although the description says 3M tape “and Velcro” there was no Velcro with my order. The LEDs are said to consume up to 0.5W to produce the same light as up to 5W incandescent bulb. 50.Lumens. On this week’s show you’ll see how easy it was to install one, and exactly how it works. 4/$18.00 or $4.50 each as of 2/8/24,

Weird! Disco Balls With the Lights On The Inside!
When I saw these at Five Below, I had to buy them to see how the LED Mini-mirrored Balls would light-up from the inside. Besides, they were only $5.55.
Via Five Below: These disco ball string lights turn your pad into a party & get your groove on! I don’t know about that, but they are fun and look great when they’re lit up. Those are the ones I bought in the photo. There are 6 disco balls, each with white LEDs inside. (The transparent cable is 6ft long.) It’s for indoor use only and requires 2 AA alkaline batteries (not included). Website also says: Warning: This product can expose you to chemicals including Bisphenol A (BPA), which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov They were $5.55 at the store and on their website. But shipping is added on the website.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
For his February theme loyal Patreons picked “Cheap Bathroom Gadgets”!
Chad’s 2nd Cheap Bathroom Gadget is the Rinseroo Handheld Hose Attachment.
The Rinseroo shower attachment hose is a handheld hose for your sink or shower. It fits most showerheads up to 4 inches in diameter. Note that this version is NOT SUITABLE FOR TUB SPOUTS (Please consider our Rinseroo Tub Spout Version if you need to attach a hose to your tub spout). The 6 foot hose can be used to fill a portable washing machine, cleaning showers, filling buckets, or bathing your pet.
Chad liked this gadget and will probably use it to shampoo his pets. (Most likely his dogs, knowing how cats are said to hate water.) Chad bought his on Amazon for about $27.00, but you’ll find it way cheaper if you do a web search on Aliexpress and don’t need it right away.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
This week’s warehouse video is yet another What The Heck Is It?
This one is another fun video from Mo Torres, our most frequent contributor and loyal supporter.
In the video Mo gives you a chance to Guess What The Heck It Is — indicating where you can pause the video for more guessing time.
On the show I don’t think anyone in chat guessed it. At least Chad & I didn’t know What The Heck It Was!

Email of the week:
RE: Heater you showed a while back on the show:
Sanford emails us:
I saw this at my local Aldi store. Note the Price of $9.99. Far less than the $100 unit you showed before. This is also 400 watts. I had owned the same unit before and used it in my small Teardrop Camper trailer. It had no issues keeping me warm when it was 20F outside.
