Giz Wiz Show #1981, Thursday March 28, 2024
This show is show #4 of year 19!! And we celebrate with a brand new set designed by OMG Chad himself!
The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you’d like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we have zero ads) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page. There’s a PayPal link there too. Thank you! www.gizwiz.tv.
On this week’s show, we learn about two final new toys the Giz Wiz found at The Toy Insider Spring Fling ‘24 event.
Stumble Guys Action Figures & Plush Toys Plus The Nerf Super Soaker Nano
“Stumble Guys” is a multi-award-winning party battle royale game that features extremely fast-paced multiplayer game play. Play it online with friends as there is a wide array of challenging and imaginative events, tournaments, and levels. But now you can step into the fun of Stumble Guys with PMI’s new fun toy line! To quote them: Enjoy the excitement of the game’s crazy courses on your screen and bring the adventure home with our collection of toys, including collectibles, action figures, plush toys and more! Jump into the stumble-fest, feel the game’s joy, and dive into the excitement of Stumble Guys, both on-screen and off!
Your favorite NERF Super Soakers, now in MINI size! NERF Super Soaker Nano Blasters are miniature water blasters to bring exciting water battles anywhere you go! Officially licensed by Hasbro and produced by WowWee, these mini but mighty blasters really shoot a mini water blast up to 18 feet! (That sounds pretty far when you see the size of this Nano Blaster.) Nerf says: Just dip in water to fill, then pump the handle to blast! Each Nano Blaster has an attached keychain, so they’re easy to clip to a backpack or water bottle. Each one is a mini version of a classic, fan favorite blaster. Collect all 3! Ages 6+.

Need Some Extra Storage In A Hurry?
The ABTOR storage box is good looking and really easy to set up. You can open the top lid to retrieve items or open the front doors. The front door has a built-in latch and a locking handle. Of course if you’re stacking these, you’ll be only be able to open the top storage bin cover. You can also see into the bin with their transparent designed doors. Storage box dimensions: Length 19.3 inches x Width 12.2 inches x Height 11.8 inches. (3.62 inches when folded). The company says it is sturdy enough to withstand a weight of up to 121 pounds (55 kilograms). It does have wheels but as Chad pointed out it can only roll in one direction. This is perfect for storage in kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, etc. I use them in my office. . As of 3/28/24 they were about $36.00 each and $90 for a 3 pack. But I may have found a much less expensive model. I ordered a pair, two for $25!!! I’ll let you know how they compare once they arrive. I’ll probably be able to review them on next week’s show.

These look the same & are much less expensive: https://amzn.to/3vGHMfI
I ordered a set & will report if they are the same on next week’s show.

No Bending With The Stand-up, Hang-up Dustpan Broom Combo
If you’d like to sweep dust into a pan with bending, check out the Jekayla 54″ Long Handled Broom and Dustpan Set. This broom with dustpan combo set lets you sweep small messes without bending over. It comes in a surprising small box, but turns out to be easy to assemble as you’ll see on this week’s show. You can do it without any tools. The broom handle can be adjusted but adding or leaving off sections. The dustpan can be folded for easy storage and there’s a built-in hanging hook. The dustpan is 11 inches wide and has teeth built in to make it easy to clean the broom. I paid under $15 for the brown version with my Amazon Prime account. Other colors seem to be higher priced.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
It’s March and for Chad’s new March Crappy Corner Theme our Patreons have voted and picked is Cheap Office Gadgets.
Chad’s 3rd Cheap Office Gadget is the Copy and Paste 2-Key Keyboard
Chad says this gadget could be a way to avoid the dreaded Carpal tunnel syndrome in your home office. How, but eliminating repetitive keystrokes. This mini keyboard has the default function of “Copy” and “Paste”. You can also use it for other functions, such as Shortcut keys, Multi-step operation, Multi-key in one, Cut, Undo, Redo, etc. You can also control the LED light color and gradient mode of the case through the software or website. It comes with a 3’ USB-micro cable and is Plug and Play for Windows users. (Instructions for Mac users is online.) No Software or website required for Copying and Pasting. The link below takes you to the Amazon page where you can buy all sorts of mini-keyboards, some up to 6 buttons you can program. I’d love to have a Control, Alt, Delete single button! The 2-button device Chad was $12.99. When I checked Amazon on 3/29/24 w/ a $2 off coupon. Be aware the 2-button model seems to be on AliExpress for as little as 49 cents!!

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
Our email this week is from a fan without whose help, we would have no co-host, OMGmom!
Hi Dick and Chad,
I saw this article and immediately thought of the GizWiz and the iconic Drinking Bird in the intro video. Thought you’d enjoy learning that the Drinking Bird has the ability to convert energy into electricity!
https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/14/climate/drinking-bird-energy-power-gadgets-climate-intl/index.html
Until now, previous attempts to convert evaporation energy into electricity have suffered from a low-conversion efficiency. But using the drinking bird method, scientists have managed to generate an output of 100 volts using just 100 millilitrers of water, enough to power small electronic devices.
Reading this caused me to then search for videos demonstrating this conversion. This one was my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rq3K6Ma0wIU I recommend watching the video from :50 to 2:00. I got a kick out of his request for help.
A forever fan, Selina Johnson (OMGMom)
From the Giz Wiz. OMG, the drinking bird is still around! Tons of options, starting below $10 on Amazon: https://amzn.to/49k1agi

Letter of week:
Hi Dick & Chad,
I found a new software tool from Google that keeps me occupied for hours. If you like using Google Earth this is for you
It’s called Google Earth Studio and can be found at this link https://earth.google.com/studio/
You can make videos flying into and around places found on Google Earth.
It’s free but you must apply and wait for approval to begin using it, I was approved in only a few hours.
Here’s a sample video I created of Chad’s dream house in Orlando.
I hope you and the viewers find it as much fun as I do. Lawrence Wengler
