On this week’s show, is it possible? Yes, it is! The Giz Wiz Found A New Kind Of LED Bulb! Meet the Feit Electric 6-Way LED Light Bulb.

When I saw this LED light bulb on Amazon, I thought “how the heck did they do that?” What they did was let you choose easily between 5 LED bulb colors: Warm, Neutral, Cool, Daylight and Daylight Deluxe. (I guess ‘off’ is the 6th option.) You choose one of those light color temperatures with a flip of a switch that built right into the side of the LED bulb! The company says it’s compatible with most dimmers and you can adjust the light brightness from 10% to 100%. The 9W LED bulb is a replacement for 60W incandescent bulbs, saving up to 85% on your energy bill. BUT BE AWARE: this is NOT A SMART LIGHT BULB, you make all the adjustments locally, right on the bulb, or with the light switch. Many of the negative reviews mention they couldn’t pair it with an app. That’s because it’s listed right on Amazon as ‘not a smart light bulb’. For what they can do, I thought they were inexpensive: 2 bulbs for under $8.00 as of 4/18/24

I needed a small table lamp and was surprised at how much they cost, from about $30 to $80 for the ones I saw in stores. Then I found one that’s small, good-looking and really inexpensive on Amazon. It’s the PartageiZ Small Table Lamp. It features a minimalist design and it’s perfect for small spaces. It takes a standard E26 universal bulb, but a bulb is not included. It has a decent length power cord, with the on/off switch wired inline. There are many shade and base color combinations from this company online. I bought the black base with cream shade. If you’re Amazon Prime, it could be under $10, and there was a 17% off coupon there as of 4/18/24. Other color combinations may be more like $15 or so. This company also makes a deluxe version with built in dimming and charging ports. You can check out that at the link below.

Dennis & I couldn’t guess what these colorful gadgets were when we saw them in a bin while moving down the check-out line at Target. If we couldn’t guess them, we thought we’d make them a WTHII? gadget for the show. Turns out they are beach towel clips. The company says: Bring a pop of color to your beach lounging with these 4-Count Towel Clips from Sun Squad.” You get four beach towel clips in assorted colors designed to secure your towel in place and prevent it from blowing away or getting sandy. Made of plastic, each clip features ridged teeth to grip the corners of the towel and a pointed stake that sticks in the sand. I paid $4 for a set of 4 at the store, they were $3.00 online, and about the same price online at Walmart.

Chad’s 3^rd Cheap On Sale Gadget is the The Auto Drive Qi Wireless Cup Holder Charger.

This gadget is a 5000mAh lithium-ion battery charger designed to fit into an auto cup holder. It has an expandable device pocket and can charge Qi-enabled phones and earbud cases. Chad didn’t like that charging cable for the device which is plugged in at the top, so you can’t hide it. He also worried that might not fit his Pro 15 phone, but it did. Chad also liked that the top of the phone is visible while in the charger so you can see the time and messages. You can also charge additional devices through fast-charge USB-C and USB-A output ports. That lets you charge up to 3 devices at the same time. Finding it on sale, Chad only paid $12.00 at his local Walmart store. When he checked Walmart online it was still selling for the full price of almost $30. Chad said he would never pay $30 for it. So I guess the story is, look for it in person at your local Walmart store, of if you really need those features pay the non-sale price.

1. Video can be ANYTHING about a gadget: I bought a piece of crap. I bought a gadget I love. I have an old gadget I can’t part with because it was ‘high tech’ years ago! Even a ‘What The Heck Is It? Gadget.

2. Videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long in Horizontal Format! Low production value is fine, but we need to hear you and see your gadget clearly! You can be in the video if you like.

3. Post your Video on YouTube and click ‘unlisted’ when you upload it if you want, but not “Private” or we won’t be able to see it. Send us the URL link from YouTube.

4. If we show your video (and we show 99% of them) and live in the US or Canada you’ll also get an autographed current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of the US & Canada, I’ll autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res image. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific!
