Take a cold plunge is a hot thing these days. So HomePlunge decided to make a cold plunge system designed for the home bathtub. While most cold plunge products need a lot of space, and a huge water tank, HomePlunge is made for the water tank you already have, your bathtub. The actual system uses a 1 horsepower chiller that converts any bathtub into a cold plunge down to 37F. Your tub will be cold enough for a cold plunge in an hour. MSRP: $3,000. If you’re a long time fan of the show, you know about this brand. Mountain House is famous for lightweight, easy to pack freeze-dried food. It’s made so you’ll be able have a delicious meal in minutes, in the woods, on the water, pretty much anywhere.  All you need to do is add hot water. I had a lot of Mountain House meals about my boat for years. Perfect for times you didn’t feel like leaving the boat for laziness, or maybe bad weather. They make freeze dried meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And there are desserts too. I think they’re freeze dried ice cream is pretty amazing, since you just take it out of bag and enjoy it. No refrigeration needed. They also make kits with meals to be stored for emergencies. The foods “use by date” is 30 years from the date it was packaged. That’s a pretty long time!

Chad’s 1^st Cheap Disco Gadget is the LED Gaming Chair Seating Pad. He found this at Five Below. They say: Light up your desk chair! The LED gaming seating pad adds color-changing lights to your battle station, with 3 RGB LED lighting modes.” Chad said the LED’s are in a soft padding, so he didn’t feel wires or anything on his back when sitting. But he did point out that the LED Pad would look better if your chair has a headrest. It does have a double elastic strap with buckle for seat adjustment, but the control switch is difficult to get to when you’re sitting on the pad. But, for $10, not bad. In stores, and online.

This is a very different Giz Wiz Warehouse Video.

Here’s the story of how it came about. Mo Torres is doing an inedible massive understating for me. He is digitizing more than 100 video tapes of me on various shows of the past showing “the latest” (back then!) gadgets. This week, it’s a video of me ‘live’ (at the time) from the floor of CES 2004. Yes, 21 years ago. I’m showing some tech break-throughs to top tier reporter, Brian Williams.

You’ll see amazing gadgets like the Panasonic FM Tuner, music player with 256MB of memory. It could carry up to four hours of music, and it was only $179.00. ($339 in today’s $$) And the Sanyo phone which amazingly could record color video!! But only in 15 second clips! Lots of other ‘awesome at the time’ tech gadgets! Even a Scottevest w/a solar panel on the back…

1. Video can be ANYTHING about a gadget: I bought a piece of crap. I bought a gadget I love. I have an old gadget I can’t part with because it was ‘high tech’ years ago! Even a ‘What The Heck Is It? Gadget.

2. Videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long in Horizontal Format! Low production value is fine, but we need to hear you and see your gadget clearly! You can be in the video if you like.

3. Post your Video on YouTube and click ‘unlisted’ when you upload it if you want, but not “Private” or we won’t be able to see it. Send us the URL link from YouTube.

4. If we show your video (and we show 99% of them) and live in the US or Canada you’ll get an autographed current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of the US & Canada, I’ll autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res image. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific!
