I love the first one in the video. The new FlexBrew Advanced 5-in-1 Coffee Maker. It has a space-saving design with slim footprint and a feature I’ve never seen before in a coffee maker. There’s a dual-position 60 oz. water reservoir. That means you can attached to the back of the machine if you want a long, narrow profile, or attach it to the side of the machine for a wider, less deep profile. It’s said to be fast brewing — brew a single cup in less than 2 minutes, plus there’s a convenient LED touchscreen. MSRP: $119.99 But it saw it for under $100 on Amazon on 8/15/25.

The new Hamilton Beach Sandwich Stacker Hot Sandwich Maker, won’t be along until October 2025. The original version which I own, and use a lot came out about ten years ago, so Hamilton Beach thought it was time for an upgrade. This one looks to be designed to take a full slice of squared bread. This new model has a built-in digital timer and can turn out hot sandwiches in about five minutes. Price is expected to be under $50.00. 

The New Hamilton Beach Electric Indoor Grill with Hot and Cold Smoke Infuser has hit the marketplace. It’s a way to sear, grill and/or smoke foods (including cheese) year-round.

The patent-pending indoor electric grill has an integrated smoke infuser and is said to reach searing temperatures to lock in juices and flavor. It adds grill marks and lets you add smoke flavor to a variety of foods. Under $165.00

If you autograph things, or use Sharpie’s for other purposes, you’ll be glad to know the new Sharpie Create Pens are “no bleed” pens. There’s nothing worse than signing something important to discover the ink has bled through and is visible on the page under it. As you’ll see in the video on this week’s show, they really work. There are two varieties, one is a thicker maker, more like a regular Sharpie, and the brush tip version is thinner. But both of them are labeled as Sharpie Create Markers. Prices vary by the number you buy and/or the kit you purchase. Amazon has a full range of the Create Markers.

The Giz Wiz thought so too, and is probably going to buy one. They’re cheaper if you need more than one.

Meet The Gap Hoodio

I found a brand new one, from 2004, at Dick’s Gadget Warehouse. Some 21 years ago The Gap introduces clothing with a built-in music system. Called The Hoodio, it was powered by Wild Planet technology. It came with a built in FM radio, had controls on the sleeve and speakers in the hood… I didn’t realize kids were still listening to the radio back then. A big innovation here is in the way the radio and speakers snap to the jacket. The snaps are conductive so just clipping them into place enables them to work. It was priced at $68.00.

1. Video can be ANYTHING about a gadget: I bought a piece of crap. I bought a gadget I love. I have an old gadget I can’t part with because it was ‘high tech’ years ago! Even a ‘What The Heck Is It? Gadget.

2. Videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long in Horizontal Format! Low production value is fine, but we need to hear you and see your gadget clearly! You can be in the video if you like.

3. Post your Video on YouTube and click ‘unlisted’ when you upload it if you want, but not “Private” or we won’t be able to see it. Send us the URL link from YouTube.

4. If we show your video (and we show 99% of them) and live in the US or Canada you’ll get an autographed current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of the US & Canada, I’ll autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res image. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific!
