On this week’s show we have three unique and fun gadgets from Toy Fair 2020.
Let’s have a hand for The Mega Cyborg Hand.
I saw this kit at Toy Fair 2020 and thought it would great for kids to learn about hydraulics. After they build their own BIG hydraulic hand, they slip their own hand into it like a glove, and operate the mechanical fingers with their own fingers. I tried it and it’s great fun. Assemble it using over 200 plastic pieces, fill the piston tubes with water, and adjust it to fit your own hand. The hydraulic pistons enable the fingers to open and close, and to grip objects with enough force to lift them. The hand is adjustable to fit virtually all hand sizes and you can switch the thumb from right hand to left hand. Ages: 8+ MSRP: $39.95 From THAMES & KOSMOS. Coming Summer 2020.

Here’s something whimsical that will be great fun when the warm weather returns
Meet the Big Mouth Humongous Sprinklers! The one in the photo is the over-9-feet-tall Ginormous Giraffe Yard Sprinkler. Even the description the company supplies is clever: It takes backyard entertainment to the “necks” level. Sure, the kids could run through the rusty ol’ sprinkler, but if you want cool points with the fam you’ve got to THINK BIGGER! Take your summer game to the next level the Ginormous 9-foot tall Giraffe Yard Sprinkler, or one of the companies other ginormous animals. They’re the missing piece to that epic birthday, pool party, BBQ, or family reunion you’ve been planning (or dreading). Simple to use, too. Just inflate it, and connect a standard garden hose. Turn on the water and voila!…water sprays out of the giraffe’s mouth for a truly over-the-top experience. The inflatable design means that it’s lightweight, easy to move, and deflates for compact storage in the off-season. It comes with an anchor kit and uses a handy two-port valve with a one-way check that makes inflation a breeze. Prices range from about $40 to $60.

The Upside Down Challenge Game
When the world is flipped upside down, EVERYTHING becomes a challenge! Here’s more of what Vango says about their new upcoming game for summer. Family game night just got a lot more fun! The UpsideDownChallenge Game will keep your friends and family laughing out loud for hours. Compete doing simple tasks like writing your name, giving a high five, and pouring water from one cup into another, all while your vision is flipped upside down. You’ll be shocked how difficult even the simplest tasks become. Join the trend and post your own #UpsideDownChallenge videos to social media! Or look up the hashtag #UpsideDownChallenge to see more! The Giz Wiz adds: I tried this at ToyFair where my task was to simply draw a line connecting 3 dots. I was so disoritented with the glasses on, I did a terrible job; but it was fun. You’ll see the video on this week’s show. Under $20.00 Coming August 2020.

Chad’s Crappy Corner & his final gadget for his February Theme
Our loyal Patreons voted! And Chad’s February “Cheap Gadget Theme” they voted for is…… “Cheap Gadgets From The Bargain or Clearance Bin!
This week Chad’s Final gadget is the Aurora Golden LED Step Light. Chad found his at a bargain price of $4.00 at Walmart. But as you’ll see in the video, and even in the photo here that even $4.00 was too much for this gadget. out of the box it’s falling apart. The light is magnetic and it does have two magnetic strips with 3M backing to attach to places you want to put the light that aren’t magnetic, like a refrigerator is. It uses 4AAA batteries which were not included. The problem with Chad’s bargin is the battery end is so loose it barely makes contact and therefore doesn’t light up most of the time. Chad said this is one of the crappiest of his crappy gadgets. It was on the Walmart website saying “1 left” when we recorded this show, but not it looks like there are none. But I wouldn’t buy one anyway. You’ll probably agree after you see Chad’s review on this week’s show.
Below is the link to the ones I talked about and showed in the video. I bought about a dozen of them on Amazon & use them in closets, under desks, etc. They’re about $10 each, have rechargeable batteries and can be run directly from a battery charger if you want to leave them on for long periods. https://amzn.to/2T5GFA5

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific!
