This week it’s CES Show #2, our second show with gadgets we found at CES 2020. Since we didn’t actually get to use these products we have to rely on the info from the companies that make the products or the spokesperson we talked to at the show, but hey, it’s all new stuff!
Chad has his Cake and talks about it too. That’s the company name: Cake!
CAKE, a Swedish manufacturer of lightweight electric off-road performance motorcycles, recently unveiled the Ösa. It’s described as being a light, clean and quiet electric motorcycle providing a new means of transportation while accelerating toward a zero emission future. Heavily influenced by the workbench, the Ösa design features a large gray bar extending out from underneath the seat. This uni-bar, modular clamp-on, system serves as the heart of the Ösa, allowing users to attach baskets, bags, tools and more to create over 1,000 different possible configurations. Thanks to the powerful battery with multiple outlets, the Ösa doubles as a power station on wheels, enabling the rider to be completely independent, off-the-grid. Whether that’s a carpenter charging power tools to build a cabin, or a DJ hosting an impromptu concert in the forest, the possibilities are endless. In town, the package delivery service or the pizza delivery guy may execute clean last-mile deliveries in cities around the world. This is Ösa. Read more about this device and OsaPlus on the company website.

Chad checks out the Cub Blind Spot Detection systems at CES2020
New from CUB is a variety of safety solutions ranging from a basic Universal Blind Spot Detection (BSD) kit for passenger vehicles, for motorcycles and even an RV. BSD systems are becoming mainstream and are available on many cars and trucks. However, it is yet to be standard across all levels. CUB offers in bumper sensors for passenger cars, replacement integrated tail lamps for pick up trucks, and custom mounts for specialty applications such as motorcycles and recreational vehicles (RV). BSD systems help drivers look over their shoulder when they’re not. With LED indicators and audible alarms, drivers are safer with an extra set of eyes right where they need them. The company also makes specialty applications such commercial BSD systems, pedestrian detection and traffic awareness as part of the CUB portfolio with 77GHz radar products. CUB recently introduced a pedestrian detection system to monitor the danger zones around school buses, keeping children and adults safe during the loading and unloading process which is the most dangerous time. And to keep our first responders and workers safe, CUB has developed a traffic awareness product which watches traffic and warns the police, refuse workers, road workers, and the alike before they are struck by passing traffic. The price range of the three gadgets Chad discusses in his video on this week’s show range from about $599.00 to $999.00. More information is at the company website.
