Another fun yearly holiday event to get the press geared up for what toys and games should be big for the 2025 Holiday Season is The Toy Insider Holiday of Play. Here are some great gift gadget ideas from that show!
One of the most fun games we saw was Marshmallow Madness. This game challenges players to pick up and eat marshmallows using a pair of tiny hands. The player who eats the most marshmallows during their turn wins the game. A sand timer is included. But before the fun begins, the Toy Insider notes: It is important to know that anything involving fast eating can lead to a choking hazard. To prevent this, please ensure all players are ages 8 and older. mind. We recommend adult supervision for this game as well. Also, note that this game does not include the mini marshmallows, which are a necessary part of the game. MSRP: $25.00. It was $19.97 at Walmart on 9/19/25

Chad’s Crappy Corner
It’s September Chad’s Cheap Theme, voted on by our loyal Patreons, is Cheap TV and Home Entertainment Gadgets!
Chad’s third Cheap TV gadget is the LO1 ProTV LED Backlight.
This device is a 14.7ft Cuttable TV LED Backlight Strip with Sensor, Smart App Control, Game & Music Sync Color Changing Light! Amazon adds: Elevate your viewing with our innovative TV backlight sync to screen system. Advanced sensors capture screen colors and seamlessly sync the TV LED lights for a captivating, immersive experience that brings your entertainment to life.” —- Okay, spoiler alert. Chad had high hopes for this and so did the rest of us. He already has a TV backlight strip in use, but what’s very different about this one is that it has a camera that can light the background by mimicing what’s on the screen. But as you’ll see, once Chad installed it, it pretty much did nothing! Chad paid $39.99 for his, but the price will vary, depending on the size of the light strip you’ll need to match your TV screen dimension.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
Our email is from Ivan Hahn who has created several warehouse videos & Giz Wiz theme videos.
Here’s his email: I figured let me send this to both of you after hearing the live show last week. (From the Giz Wiz: Ivan created a new Letter’s Theme Video, but only sent it to me. Chad is the one who is needs it, in order to roll it in the show.)
Attached is a new Letters theme that I promised to send a few years ago at this point (sorry for the delay).
(New Letters YouTube video) https://youtu.be/Au-44Gxi1zU?si=tFlVu1Qz4DVTmz2g
And I figured I would also attach a gadget warehouse video, I do some work with community theaters and while I was there I found this old “door bell box” that was used for sound fx for a few years before computers were brought into the theater,

Email of the week:
Mo email said briefly: “I would get this”
Mo From the Giz Wiz: Seems LOTS of people are interested in this. It has raised over $2M! Chad said he’d be interested, but not at the current price. Also Kickstarter says something like, be careful, this is a concept, not an actual product yet.
