Anker’s Soundcore Flare 2 waterproof Bluetooth speaker offers a lot of great features.
The Flare 2 is the latest addition to feature 360° Sound with dual drivers and passive radiators combined to provide 20W of sound in all directions. Unlike earlier models, this one has light rings on the base and top to provide beat-driven lighting. (Your choice of six, via the app.) IPX7 Waterproof as you’ll in this week’s show. PartyCast Technology: Link over 100 Flare 2 portable Bluetooth speakers to a single device. You’ll see that too in this week’s show. 12-Hour Playtime and built in mic for phone use. Battery Capacity: 5200mAh Charge Time: 3.5 hrs, not 4.5 I say in the video. Best of all is the price, $69. I believe the 1st Flare was $99.00. There are four versions of the Flare now, but only the Flare 2 offers top & bottom lighting.

One-Tie, A New Way To Get Your Stuff Organized.
I found this One-Tie assortment as a ‘deal of the day’ and I like them. Here’s a bit of info from the company: Strap, bundle and organize with One-Tie’s revolutionary design. Start by using it to organize power cords. Then try it in the shop, kitchen, camping and more. Created from an automotive grade polymer, One-Tie can be used and reused, over and over, in hot, cold, wet or dry conditions. Chemical- and UV-resistant, it’s hard to find a place where One-Tie can’t be used. The jar I bought for $20 contained 4 tie lengths, 8 in. ties in black, 12 in. ties in red, 14 in. ties in yellow, 20 in. ties in orange. It would be nice if the combo packages listed the colors and not the sizes of the One-Ties. As of 6/26 the One-Tie assortment was sold out on Amazon. But I found this at Home Depot online:

BriteBrush – A bright idea to get kids to brush properly.
Parents, having trouble getting the kids to brush their teeth? The BriteBrush GameBrush could help that big time! There are Music Modes to keep your child brushing, plus 6 other games. And I bet their current toothbrush doesn’t offer live feedback and side change recognition as they brush! The better they brush, the more games you can unlock. There are a total of Seven Fun Games – Space Attack, Soccer, Pinball, Dance Star, Punch Master, Race Car Rally, Rockstar Jam, and Arcade Legends! But wait, there’s more! Kids may think it’s sneaky, but it wasn’t designed for them. It’s the “Parent Check Light.” After the kids finishing brushing, the BriteBrush lets you know how they’ve done. There’s an Extra Brush Head included in the box. And the brush has soft bristles to help protect teeth and gums. Recommended Age 5+. BrightBrush also has a Baby Shark brush too. MSRP $19.99.

Chad’s Crappy Corner And His Final Cheap Summer Gadget, His June Theme.
Chad takes to the beach again to check out SH Anti-drowning Air Float. Info from the company: The miniature automatic inflatable lifesaving airbag is a kind of portable water rescue equipment. Can be worn easily on the hand. When you surf, swim, fish, and play in the water, you can quickly create a balloon that will allow you to calmly float on the water. This only requires you to pull the trigger wrench. It is very compact and fits on your wrist or arm. It will not affect your daily activities, nor will it be as stuffy as a life jacket. The adult version offers up to 80 Newtons of buoyancy and is perfectly suitable for adults weighing up to 220 IB! It is also reusable and very economical.
And Chad’s take? Well it did inflate easily and it might help keep you afloat as you’ll see. Chad was a little concerned that the one he bought seemed to have a bit of mold on it once inflated. It does come with four CO2 cylinders and Chad said the fabric did feel steady. As an emergency flotation device it’s probably better than nothing, but it certainly isn’t Coast Guard approved. Chad paid $31.00 for his. The Giz Wiz adds: I wouldn’t trust “can replace the life jacket” line on Amazon. Buying a CG approved vest would be the way to go for any real water activities.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video & Win An Autographed MAD Magazine.
Here’s this week’s email and viewer video:
Hi Dick and Chad!
I finally got around to recording a video.
I am surprised how many gadgets that I used to use have been replaced by the smartphone.
If you like this example, I can make more.
Love da show!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Email of the week:
OMGChad and Dickie Dee, While watching TWIT and seeing OMGChad on the Friday show I decided to find a picture of my first PC. We used to have a commodore 64 pc but it was one that I used mainly for games and such, but the first computer I used and really got to learn the applications and such was a Packard Bell computer with a 486/33mhz processor. A friend of ours gave us the computer and I remember he and his friend brought me to a computer show and we got an upgrade for the computer. The upgrade doubled the speed from 33mhz to 66mhz. I also remember getting to “watch” videos especially from enhanced cds that they sold at the time. One had a music video that would play and you could literally see each of the frames changing as it played.
I am including a picture that I looked up of the computer. It is the same computer but not my actual computer.
