One first gadget is from the Holiday Gift Show some time back, but the company, Arrow, asked us to hold the video until October, since that’s when they would introduce their new 2-in-scissors.
It’s October, and here’s their new gadget!
From the company. Meet the new Arrow Box-cutting Scissors! It’s the perfect tool for cutting paper, twine, ribbon, tape, and other craft materials. Featuring 8-inch blades with a durable, non-stick coating, these scissors offer smooth, precise cuts every time. The double-ground stainless steel blades ensure faster and more accurate cutting, while the lightweight, rust-proof cutting edges are versatile enough for a variety of tasks. The beveled tip at the end of the blades allows for safe and easy box opening and tape slicing. Soft-touch TPE handles reduce hand strain. From the Giz Wiz: On this week’s show you’ll see how they work when I use them to open a securely taped box. MSRP: $8.99

It’s not a gadget, but if you shoot videos, you just might want this Adobe App!
It’s called Adobe Podcast Premium. (There’s a free version too.) From the company: Record, edit, and enhance your voice without downloading any software. Use Adobe Podcast right in the browser. Enhance spoken audio with just one click. Focus on your story, not your sound. Adobe Podcast’s AI makes voice recordings sound as if they were recorded in a professional studio. There’s a free version which I had trouble finding, and a paid version at $9.99 a month. I ended up taking the ‘free 30 trial’, but it did require having a payment option which starts automatically after the free trial. Adobe says you’ll get a notice several days before the free trial ends. As you’ll on this week’s show I think this an amazing help in removing background noise and improving the voice on videos recorded in noisy environments. I will be buying this app after the free trial, at $99.99 a year, plus taxes depending on where you live.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
It’s October and we learned that Chad’s new Cheap Theme, voted on by our loyal Patreons, is Cheap Car Gadgets!
And Chad’s first cheap car gadget is the Auto Drive Universal Headrest Mount Phone & Tablet Holder.
Info from Walmart: Fits most car manufacturers and clamps onto devices from 4.5-10.2 inches. Allows for landscape or portrait viewing with its 360-degree rotation feature. Designed for quick and easy installation on the headrest of your car or SUV. Arm extends from 3.9 to 8.8 inches to accommodate various device sizes. Equipped with soft grips to protect your device from scratches and hold it steady during the ride.
And Chad’s take: As you’ll see on this week’s show Chad liked this. He lets people and know and demonstrates the type of seat back your car must have in order for this to work. He used a friends car for the demo since it won’t work in his Telsa. You’ll see an assortment of electric screens this device can hold. Chad paid just under $15.00 for his.
Chad bought his on Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Auto-Drive-Pivoting-Tablet-Phone-Holder-Headrest-Mount-Black-Automotive-Interior-Accessories-Universal/1660946061
Amazon has an assortment of these and a couple look identical to the Walmart version. They start at about $7.00 Check the latest price on Amazon: https://amzn.to/48eHoWU

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
It is still available?
A look back a the most tech umbrella you’ve ever seen! It’s the ShadeCraft Sunflower Umbrella. I saw this at a CES 2018 Preview which was held in NYC during October 2017. You’ll hear the spokesperson in the video explain all the features, but here are just a few of them. At night it automatically closes and folds up. In the sunshine it rotates to keep you in the shade. If it gets too windy, it folds up to avoid being damaged. It also analyzes the air around it checking for anything dangerous. But we wondered, did it ever come to market? You’ll see everything we found out about this solar powered, high tech umbrella on this week’s show.
