Giz Wiz Show #1796 September 10, 2020 Independent Show #277
We Compare Three Mini-flashlights!
Wow! People like flashlights! Especially inexpensive ones. In the past week I bought a dozen more mini-flashlights. Now I have them from 3 different places. They all look alike on the web, but are they all the same? After I bought 3 of them for $10.50, Beckee W. in the chatroom found them for $3 each, actually four for $11.99. Then I found 6 for $17.99, also about $3 each. I decided to buy several of each to see if they are all the same flashlight. Strangely, they look similar, but they’re all slightly different. Watch this week’s show to see the variations. One thing is for sure. I think anyone of them would make a great stocking stuffer, or mini-gift. Especially the ones that ship in individual plastic containers. The ones priced at 4 for $11.99 on Amazon came packaged altogether in a plain cardboard box and don’t have the ‘strobe’ mode, something I never use anyway.

All 3 versions of the mini-flashlight are still available as of 4 PM EDT 9/10/20
6/$17.97: https://amzn.to/3k8kxjc (About $3 each.)
4/$11.99 Amazon: https://amzn.to/2F7ZGxZ (About $3 each- This version has no ‘strobe’ mode which is something I never use anyway.)
Still on Deal of the Day 3 for $10.50 w/free shipping as of 1 PM EDT 9/10/20 https://www.thatdailydeal.com/index.php?id=54488 ($3.50 each, but bigger task light side panel & better charging light indicator. This would be my choice if they’re still available.)

This Bissell Vacuum Can Suck Up Broken Raw Eggs & Spilled Milk!
It’s been more than two years since we talked about the BarkBath QT. It was Bissell’s faster, QUIETER, and less messy way to bathe your four-legged family member, or even your dog. Bissell has something new now in their Crosswave line & it was featured at IFA, Berlin, billed as the oldest and largest industrial exhibition in Europe. Even though there was a live in-person show in Berlin, I didn’t attend, but thanks to Dealerscope Editor-in-Chief, Nancy Klosek and Tony Monteleone at ctlab.media, we have some video for our show. (They didn’t attend in person either, but hired a local reporter to get video of the BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max All in One Wet-Dry Vacuum Cleaner & Mop for Hard Floors & Area Rugs. (Wow, what a long name!) Video is below, but here’s a bit of info from Bissell: Vacuum and wash your floors at the same time with cordless freedom. Up to 30 minutes of cordless cleaning power with a 36V lithium ion battery. Improved edge cleaning to easily pick-up pet hair that gathers along baseboards and in corners of your home. Multi-surface cleaning means it’s safe for use on tile, sealed wood floors, rugs, laminate, linoleum, rubber floor mats, pressed wood floors, and more. Self-cleaning cycle helps maintain machine’s cleaning performance. Two-tank technology keeps clean water and formula separate from dirty water and dry debris. Wi-Fi connected capabilities and the Bissell connect app provide helpful alerts, maintenance tracking and usage tips. Thanks again to Nancy and Tony for sharing their video:

I Find A Great Free App at a Showstopper Virtual Press Event.
In all the years I’ve owned an Android smartphone, I’ve have never printed from it. I figured it would just be too much trouble. Then I found out about the Mopria Print Service app. Here’s what is says it can do: Make mobile printing easy from any Android phone or tablet and eliminates the need to install any additional software or drivers allowing you to easily print regardless of the printer brand to more than 120 million Mopria certified printers. Android 8 and higher phones also feature core print technology from Mopria including the new Android 11 OS.” During the demo I downloaded the app, and in about a minute it found my printer and asked if I would like to print out a demo page. I did that, and wow, it worked! Printing a photo was no so successful, but when I inquired about that, I learned a new version in coming very soon and it should fix that problem. Crappy Corner and his second gadget for his Cheap Gadget Theme for September: Mimic Gadgets.
This week Chad’s pick is FOOD FIGHT SPLAT BALLS. Here’s a bit of info from ToySmith, the company behind these gadgets: Created for kids that can’t resist playing at mealtime, these splat balls let them be wild and free to food-fight. Featuring a pizza, a donut and a burger, this sticky set of three splats with each toss. Made of TPR plastic and water-based powder filling. Recommended for ages 3+. WARNING: Choking hazard, small parts; not for children under 3 yrs.
And Chad’s take? Chad like these and you’ll see him squishing them and letting them Splat on some shelves behind him. He especially liked that they were at FIVE BELOW for just $3 each. He couldn’t find them on FIVE BELOW’s website so recommended check out a local FIVE BELOW store if you have one near you. He also found them online, but as a set of 3. Oddly the set contains the 3 he bought, but for $14.97. So FIVE BELOW is definitely a better deal.
https://www.worldmarket.com/product/toysmith+food+fight+splat+ball+set+of+3.do?sortby=ourPicks 3 for $14.97 at Cost Plus World Market (And most likely a shipping charge too.)

Dick Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video & Win An Autographed MAD Magazine.
I guess since Apple will be making some major announcements next week he wanted us to show his video now.
He also added that this video fits in with this month’s Chad’s Crappy Corner’ theme of ‘mimic gadgets’.
Here’s the link to Mo’s video: https://youtu.be/WujcJjGafxU

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
