Need More Ports On Your New Laptop?

To get the fastest and most reliable speeds between my Fios modem and my computer, hard wired was the way to go. Since my laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet input, we were going wirelessly. But during the show I had a few drop outs between Chad’s connection and mine, so we decided to go back to wired. To have the latest technology and a lot more ports, I bought the Anker 6-in-1 USB C Hub. This handsome device is equipped with a Power Delivery input port, an HDMI port, an Ethernet port, a USB-C data port, and 2 USB data ports. You can connect a 65W wall charger to the Power Delivery input port to provide high-speed pass-through charging to your laptop. And the HDMI port allows you to connect to an external display in resolutions up to4K. I needed almost all those ports, but still had only one USB-C connection to my computer. The hub is really compact and I paid $39.99 on Amazon, where it got very decent reviews from more than 3,000 people.

Chad discovers the Wine Bottle Drip Collar. It’s a felt collar said to fit most wine bottles so you don’t have to worry about wine dripping on clothing, tablecloths, etc. as you pour it.  They’re inexpensive too. It’s not a gadget, but a school I went to for a very, very short time. Back like 35 years ago I was doing spots for a show called Discover New Jersey on NJN, a PBS station. When my producer said I was going to be doing a TV spot at the Monster Factory, I couldn’t wait. Wow, what could that be like? Maybe making scary creatures? No, you’ll see the whole story in the video on this week’s show. And I think you might get a laugh or two out of me when I discover, Monster Factory is (spoiler alert) a place to learn how to become a flashy wrestler!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show!

1. Video can be ANYTHING about a gadget: I bought a piece of crap. I bought a gadget I love. I have an old gadget I can’t part with because it was ‘high tech’ years ago! Even a ‘What The Heck Is It? Gadget.

2. Videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long in Horizontal Format! Low production value is fine, but we need to hear you and see your gadget clearly! You can be in the video if you like.

3. Post your Video on YouTube and click ‘unlisted’ when you upload it if you want, but not “Private” or we won’t be able to see it. Send us the URL link from YouTube.

4. If we show your video (and we show 99% of them) and live in the US or Canada you’ll get an autographed current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of the US & Canada, I’ll autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res image. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific!
