Starting the show, it’s Charlie, The Giz Wiz Mascot Dog, Sporting A New Helpful Gadget!
I never heard of the Dog Recovery Suit, but I’m do glad I found it on Amazon. Charlie needed surgery to remove some lumps on his leg, and I didn’t want to have to wear one of those dreadful plastic collars. I already had an inflatable collar for him, but to protect the leg better, I bought the Coodeo Dog Recovery Sleeves for the leg. The material of the sleeve is waterproof to prevent the dog from licking the wound and to keep it dry. It can be used on either the left or right leg, but the company says it’s not for the hind legs. This works great. Charlie lets us put it on in seconds and it totally protects the many stitches in his leg. Price is about $18 to $29 depending on the size. They offer the Recovery Suit in 8 sizes.

A Chad Extra!
From a past theme of “Cheap Gadgets From Thift Stores”, Chad shows us something he bought, but never used on the show. It’s the Sharper Image Virtual Space Ping Pong Game. The box it comes in looks interested and set features “Infrared Technology”. Wow, think of that! Inside the box is Light Beam Ball Projector, and two IR Emitter Rackets. You can the game for 1 or 2 players. And finally, there’s Integrated Sound Effects. As you’ll see on this week’s show, none of that seems to make a fun game. Chad said the projected ball is too dim to hit easily, and you might have better luck in a really dark room. Luckily Chad only paid $15 for his at Goodwill Store. And his had batteries in it. Otherwise, you need 7 AA batteries in order to get everything set up. The one he found a Goodwill isn’t a Sharper Image, but they do have a newer set that looks like it plays in a similar way, but was more like $56.00 on 4/11/25. The earlier Virtual Pong by Sharper Image set has a lot of sellers over at eBay most asking for about $25.00.

Pop-It Fidget Games Gets LED’s & Sound Effects!
Pop, Push, and Play! We haven’t done that for quite some time on The Giz Wiz Show. This version of the popping fidget game adds lights and sound effects. It’s branded Temi, and it’s quite addictive, as you’ll see on this week’s show. The company says this is a great sensory toy to exercise children’s hand-eye coordination, brain training, logical thinking, and promoting your child’s sensory development. That could be, but I think it’s more likely to be a great stress relief toy for adults. It’s inexpensive too. I bought mine at PulseTV, 2 game consoles for $5, plus about $7.00 shipping. As of 4/11/25 you could get 4 games for $8, plus the shipping. It requires 3 AAA batteries, which are not included. A very similar game is available over at Amazon at $6.99 for one, but that one has a built in electronic score, great for competition playing!

Chad’s Crappy Corner
It’s April Time for a new theme for Chad’s Crappy Corner. On this show we learned what the winning theme, voted on by our loyal Patreons was! And it is – Ta Da! Cheap Gadgets for the Rain. I guess some folks who voted for that were thinking about ’ April Showers’.
Chad’s 2nd Cheap Gadget For The Rain covers a problem that probably doesn’t occur too often. And that’s keeping rain out the straw in your drinking water bottle. But his solution is very clever and very inexpensive. Meet the Cowboy Hat Straw Cap Covers. They’re Compatible with Stanley Cup 30 & 40 oz tumblers. The design is inspired by cowboy hats, so this straw topper is very unique. Food grade silicone material, BPA free, dishwasher safe. Black, white, pink, brown, 4 for $5.99.

Email of the week:
Subject: The Strong National Museum of Play
John Zengerle emails us:
Hearing about Moe’s video of the new museum reminded me of this place in Rochester, NY.
Have you heard of it or been there?
Bye-bye, John
The Giz Wiz replied: I’ve heard of it, and they’ve actually been in contact with me. They are adding a permanent Game Show Exhibit and asked if I might contribute some actual Match Game questions I wrote and Gene Rayburn used on the air. Yes, I’m going to do that.
