Let’s celebrate our 15th Anniversary with “A Cup Of Joe”.
MyJO Single Serve Coffee Maker
A fan of the show told us about MyJo, a device that can brew a K-cup with AC or battery. I immediately bought one! Myjo uses single serve packs to make gourmet Coffee, tea, or hot cocoa. It’s small enough to take to work, travel, or camping. You will need hot water to fill the reservoir. Then place the single serve pack in the base, attach the water reservoir, and the pump. It does take a bit of pumping as you’ll see in the video on this week’s show. The company says it works with most travel mugs and coffee cups. Cleaning is easy! Just toss the single serve pack and rinse the base. In the box is a bonus refillable Myjo cup so you can use your favorite ground coffee. Cost of the Myjo kit? Usually under $20.
BONUS: Also on this week’s show you’ll learn how a cup of coffee became also known as “a cup of Joe”.

1byOne Wireless Driveway Alert Alarm Kit
I get the NY Times delivered in NYC everyday. Problem is, it’s just dropped in front of my building where anyway can pick it up. It’s usually delivered by 6 AM, so most days I get it before it disappears. But I wanted to find a way to know exactly when it’s in front of my door. The 1byOne Wireless Motion Sensor Alarm solved the problem. It detect movement in as – driveways, gates, sheds, offices, walkways, and in case, building steps. Movement triggers an alert to the linked receiver. The transmission range from sensor (on my air conditioner outside) to receiver (inside my back apartment) is up to 1000 feet. The sensors’ detection range is up to 24 feet. There are 3 types of alert settings:Alarm ring/door ring, LED flashlight, Alarm ring/door ring+LED flashlight. It just a few minutes to set up. Both units are battery powered so placing them just about anywhere is easy. (Batteries not included.) The system is available with either one or two remote units. You’ll learn more about it on this week’s show and the Amazon link below.

Do you find it’s difficult to keep Herbs fresh once you get them home?
Well Prepworks ProKeeper HERB according to Amazon is said to be the ideal container for storing and preserving herbs as the silicone seal keeps herbs fresh for extended periods of time. It stores 1-3 bunches of fresh herbs such as parsley, cilantro, thyme or rosemary keeping them fresh longer. This keeper also works great for keeping asparagus fresh and hydrated. The slim design fits nicely in the refrigerator or on the counter. The herbs rest in the internal basket which is raised and lowered when the lid is opened and closed. This allows for easy removable of the herbs and for automatic draining when the basket is raised. The included basket detaches for easy cleaning. The removable silicone plug allows for draining water without removing herbs, making it easy to fill and refill with water. This herb ProKeeper is BPA-free and dishwasher safe. The Giz Wiz adds: Notice the copy doesn’t say it’s good for “basil”. Sadly, that’s what we wanted it for, but we tried it with basil anyway. The company is correct, it’s not good for basil as you see on this week’s show. But as you’ll see, the device is well made and most likely works great for herbs listed. It got very good reviews on Amazon too. Under $25.00.

Chad’s Crappy Corner & his third gadget for his new February Theme.
The winning theme as voted on our loyal Patreons is “Cheap Drinking Gadgets”.
Chad’s third drinking gadget is the LIANGKEN Upgrade Go Swing Can Opener Handheld, Topless Can Opener with Sharper Blade, Can Top Remover – Beer Bottle Openers, Effortless Rip and Sip Can Opener. Fits 8-19 oz Cans. (Okay, so it’s not the same name as the one Chad showed, but when I went on Amazon I couldn’t his, but this looks exactly the same.) Here’s some info from Amazon: Lucky you have found this upgraded rotary can opener! This newly launched can opener will refresh you. The cutter head, 4 stainless steel cutter heads are all made of cutting machine blade, which is harder and sharper than the 304 stainless steel on the market. Can easily open the can without deforming the can. And there is no sharp edge at the opening, which will not hurt your lips. It is important that no aluminum scraps from cutting fall into the beverage. Intimate accessories, there are tweezers in the package, if the lid of the can fall into the beverage, you can use tweezers to take it out instead of using your hands. This will ensure your health. $6.99.
And Chad’s Take: Whoa! Are they kidding? This thing just doesn’t work smoothly at all, and when it does work it pretty much wrecks the can. You’ll see in this week’s video you do need those tweezers to pull the lids out of the can and also to pick aluminum scraps out of the can. This is definitely a ‘stay away from this product’ review!

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video And Win An Autographed MAD Magazine.
Hi Dick! Hi Chad!
Here is a 1m 25 sec video of a candle I purchased a few weeks after Christmas (2015?). Originally they were high priced but obviously didn’t sell well as I haven’t seen them locally since then.
My initial purchase of one candle was like $1. Amazed at the candles LED(?) feature, and being such a pretty candle, I went back to the store and bought all they had.
Here is the youtube link:
Thank you for all you guys do. My wife and I are always buying useful stuff we discovered on your show. Tech gear, disco light bulbs, and even bubble blowing toy trains. But the crap you review is possibly more entertaining.
Sincerely, Scott & Bev

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
