This one is from a famous brand, Eton, and buying one of them cost almost as much as buying the 3 emergency lights we did last week. So is it three times as good???

Here’s info from the company with my comments in brackets: The Eton American Red Cross Blackout Buddy H2O water-activated, emergency light. Environmentally friendly water-activated Magnesium-oxide battery module. Add water once per day for up to 72 hours of continuous light. (Different operation than the others when you dunk it in water up to the line on the device.) On/off night light option. (Really? There is no on/off switch) Safe to use in any weather condition, even if submerged in water. (Other LED light warn not to submerge LED.)  Unlimited accessory options for attachment during operation. (Really? There is no hook, handle, anything on the light that you can attach to something else.) Safer alternative to candles and matches. (And maybe just a bit brighter than either of those. This was a very disappointing $12 investment, so I got my money back!) Under $12.00 for one unit as of 4/7/21

On this week’s show we talk about two Bluetooth Digital Scales. One of them has a typical Amazon almost unpronounceable name: Bveiugn. The other one is from the famous company, Anker. It’s the eufy Smart Scale C1 with Bluetooth, Body Fat Scale, Wireless Digital Bathroom Scale. It offers 12 Measurements including Weight/Body Fat/BMI, Fitness Body Composition Analysis, etc. (I said 18 measurements in the video, but it is 12.) More info from the company: The EufyLife app works with the Smart Scale C1 to intelligently record and organize health data. Your records are always accessible on your iOS 8.0+ and Android 4.3+ compatible devices. Four auto-calibrating G-shaped sensors increase accuracy by 10%, ensuring that measurements are accurate and reliable. They work in conjunction to detect weight fluctuations in 0.1lb / 0.1kg increments. Accurately measures weight from: 11lbs – 397lbs || 5kg – 180kg. I paid $33.00 on Amazon on April 3, 2021. It’s the HALO 18 in. LED Under Cabinet Puck Light Kit, 3 Pucks, 3000K Color Temperature (Warm.). From the company with Giz Wiz comments in brackets: ENERGY STAR qualified products help you save money on utility bills. To adjust light levels, simply tap Halo logo on driver/integrated sensitive touch adjustable light levels: hi/med/low/off. (Doesn’t always work, you may have to hit it many times before it works. But you won’t be adjusting them much once they’re installed the way you want.) Space saving design allows direct magnetic mounting of driver on track/convenient direct plug-in device for 120-Volt. (Driver unit is a bit bulky.) 43% improvement in efficiency at an average of 76-Lumen per watt/90CRI, 3000K CCT. Stronger magnetic puck contacts enable ease of position adjustment. 6.98 Watts. (Not mentioned is that in the box there’s a ‘bridge’ connector so you can use two or more of these light strips powered by one driver unit.) I like these, they’re good looking and you can put the pucks exactly where you want them on the 18” magnetic track. But I wish the on/off/dimming switch you use by running your finger over the Halo logo was more relieable. I bought 3 units and only one of them works perfectly. $25.77 as on 4/8/21

Chad’s second ‘TikTok Made Me Buy It’ gadget is the Moody Fling Ama String!

And Chad’s take? Although there is “Absolutely NO assembly required!” be sure to watch this weeks video to see how Chad uses this device on a door. He shows you how to adjust it for maximum play. As you’ll see Chad’s cat wasn’t too interested at first, but Chad quickly got Waffles interested in playing with it. Be aware that Chad says you should be in the room with the cat as they play. He also says it doesn’t seem to have auto-shutoff, so you have to make sure it’s off when you and your cat are done playing.

I thought this was a goofy April Fool’s joke, a connected coffee mug that uses an app and needed a firmware update but it seems to be a real product! Pretty expensive though, they cost over $100 on Amazon! I wonder why someone couldn’t just use an $8 mug warmer instead? Not techy enough for some folks I guess since the connected mug uses “mug warming technology”!

That name sounded familiar, so I did a web search and found this gadget that we covered about 5 years back. Perhaps it’s a bit more useful that the coffee cup because it lets you take coffee most anyway, keeping it a temperature you like.
