Show #1850 Thursday September 23rd 2021 Independent Show 329
On This Week’s Show Three Really Handy, and Inexpensive Kitchen Gadgets!
Ever Hear of Toaster Bags? No, it’s something you put your toaster in. It’s a bag you put IN your toaster. Fasunry Toaster Bags Are Reusable Bags for Grilled Cheese Sandwiches! These non stick toaster bag work great for toasted cheese sandwiches, to heat croissants, cheese pastries, veggie burgers, tuna melts, peanut butter, chicken, steak, jelly, fries, fried wonton, pizza too! I like that there’s no pan to clean. The company says just rinse out the bag and reuse, can be reused up to 50 times per bag. A nice extra is the finger holes at the top of the bag make it real easy to get it out of the toaster. You get 20 bags. 6.3 x 6.5 Inches(6 Pack), 6.3 x 7.1 Inches (8 Pack), 6.7 x 7.5 Inches(6 Pack). It also says you’ll be able to use in the Microwave, but as you’ll see on this week’s show, that didn’t work out very well. Toaster bags are made of fiberglass and food grade Teflon with 100% Non Stick surface on both sides. Said to be tasteless, healthy and safe. The grilled cheese sandwiches we made did come out better than I expected and tasted great. Under $13 as of 9/21/21

What Is The Snap ‘N Strain from Kitchen Gizmo?
It’s a very handy way to have a colander or strainer in a much smaller amount of space. It’s a clip on silicone colander, designed to fits most pots, pans and bowls. Even those with a lip says the manufacturer. As you see in my test video on this week’s show, I used it on a pot with a wide lip and it did work, but it took a little bit of effort to do it. What’s nice is that this small, compact strainer stores in about one quarter the space of a traditional colander. That’s great when you have a small kitchen, or are working with limited counter space. It’s inexpensive and available in four colors. Under $12 as of 9/22/21

This Gadget Is Lid-erally Great!
It’s the YouCopia StoraLid Food Container Lid Organizer. Do you have a pile of pot and bowl lids that you have to sort through to find the one you need? I do. It’s stack of them on top of my refrigerator. Well, here’s great solution to keep them neat and easy to find. This lid organizer holds round and square container lids up to 9″. In the kit you get the base and 5 adjustable dividers (1 long, and 4 short). You’ll see in my demo on this week’s show how easy it is to set this gadget up exactly as you want it. I use my organized lids on top of my refrigerator, but this can also fit in on a shelf in a cabinet or even in a deep drawer. Made of easy-to-clean, BPA-free plastic. And yes as the company says: one minute set-up, no tools required. There are several versions available. I’m using the medium lid organizer. These kits did very well in the reviews, with 4.6 stars out of 5 stars from over 21,000 ratings. The medium kit was about $16.00 as of 9/22/21

Chad’s Cheap Crappy Corner!
Stream Deck is not a cheap gadget and we have our most loyal fan Mo Torres, to thank for giving it to Chad. It turns out he no longer had a use for it and asked if it might be good for The Giz Wiz Show. Chad said loudly “YES!” And as he says on the show, “With this gadget hooked to your computer, you can do a whole lot of things!”
Here’s a bit of info about it from Stream Deck: Stream Deck puts 15 LCD keys at your fingertips for ultimate studio control. Simply tap to switch scenes, launch media, tweet your feats and more. Personalize your keys with custom icons or choose from hundreds, and get visual feedback every time you execute a command. With Stream Deck, maximize your production value and focus on what matters most: Your audience. Interface Integrated USB 2.0 cable.
I was amazed that each of the 15 Keys are mini-LCD screens. You’ll see Chad move icons around, add new ones, and more. Now this device is not for everyone. But if you’re a content creator, a Youtuber, a streamer, etc., this would be a giant help. The reviews on Amazon are amazing, mostly all 5 star reviews. While Chad said it’s not cheap, at about $150.00, think that’s quite a bit of technology for that price. 5 or 10 years ago this could probably cost a couple of grand! Once again, thank you Mo for this generous contribution. It will now be part of the Giz Wiz weekly production. (Yes, some actual production does go into this show!)
Be sure to watch this week’s show as Chad explains the various options available on Amazon.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video And Win An Autographed MAD Magazine.
Yes! A Warehouse Video from a first time submitter, Michael Prine.
Michael emails us:
This is a video of a device I bought for the y2k nonevent. Never really needed to use it and spent around $100 for it as I recall but still think it is neat. I have a number of other devices from that time but this one is in the best shape.
Video link: https://youtu.be/D50eCZr4SKg
I also have a TI calculator in my junk drawer that still works.
Enjoy the show. Let me know if you want more.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
