Show #1852 Thursday October 7th 2021 Independent Show 330
On This Week’s Show Three More New Fun Toys For Kids From The Day of Play Sweet Suite In-person Event! (With Covid Guidelins, of course.)
What if you could draw a picture and then turn it into a video game?
Well you can, with Pixicade! Info from the company: Create your own video games with Pixicade! From paper to screen, Pixicade will help you create video games like you’ve never seen before – all designed by you! Just draw your game with the specially created Pixicade pens, snap a picture of your drawing in the Pixicade app and in 30 seconds your game comes to life! Pixicade lets you edit and animate to enhance your games, then share and play games on the Pixicade Arcade. Play one of the thousands of games designed by others or see who beats the high score on one of your own. This educational game helps children to create their own video game in 3 simple steps, allowing them to express their creativity and play a new game every day! Suitable for 6+ years.
From the Giz Wiz: I don’t play video games, but this still seems a bit complicated. But my guess is kids will take to it quickly. And it certainly is something different from anything else I saw at the show! You do need a tablet or a smartphone with camera, plus the app to bring your game to life. MSRP $24.99.

Blow bubbles you can eat! And you just might want to do that!
When I walked past this company’s table at the Sweet Suite Toy event, I thought I smelled cinnamon buns! Turns out they were cinnamon bubbles! Meet Bubbles Lick. The company calls it a One-Of-A-Kind Sensory Experience! You can treat kids or yourself to tasty bubbles flavored as Juicy Watermelon Splash, Milk Chocolate Chip, Carnival Cotton Candy and Glazed Cinnamon Roll. The company says their bubbles are made in a FDA- registered, CGMP-certified and allergen-free facility in the USA. Their flavored bubble variety pack comes in 4 flavors: Milk Chocolate Chip. Juicy Watermelon Splash. Glazed Cinnamon Roll. Carnival Cotton Candy. You can simply blow flavored, edible bubbles with the wand that is in the bottle, or pour the solution into a bubble machine, then lick them! Said to be invented and developed by top pediatricians. The company says they have partnered with the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) to give back to the community. Sold as a 4 pack, 2.5oz each, one of each flavor. MSRP: $29.95. They are for sale on the company website:

I found a different company making flavored bubbles with flavors you add! Be aware, they reviews for them are not great. https://amzn.to/2YDJ0I4 As an Amazon Associate Giz Wiz Biz earns from qualifying Amazon purchases. You pay no more.

Meet the Present Pets Minis.
On this week’s show before we take a look at Present Pets Minis, we take a look back at the best unboxing ever. It’s from Present Pets too and picked by both of us as a best of 2020. Then we see their newest and much lower priced toy. Here’s info about them from the company: Unbox an adorable trio of Present Pets Minis with the Fluffy BFFs 3-Pack! Inside the gift boxes, you’ll find 3 exclusive plush pets, an adoption certificate, a deluxe doghouse, pet carrier box and 3 sticker sheets. Lift the tab on the left side of the large box to transform it into the deluxe doghouse – the roof on the left pops up and the door opens, revealing a 3-inch plush pet! From The Giz Wiz: It’s certainly not the impact of the original unboxing, but that one cost $40 to $90 depending on where you could buy it. The Minis Three pack on the other hand sells for under $20. I think young kids will love these too. It’s seems to be a fair amount of fun and play value for the money.

Chad’s brand new theme for October as picked by our loyal Patreon members is??
Chad’s first “Power For Your Gadgets” is the badly named: HOCAO YIGO Long-Distance Wireless Charger. Here’s some badly worded info from Amazon: 10W Hidden Wireless Charger Installed Under Marble Wooden Table Furniture, Quickly Charge Mobile Phones Through a Surface with a Thickness of 0.8 Inch or Less. Universal Qi Compatibility.
And Chad’s take: The object of this device is to hide and install the charger under furniture to get rid of messy wires and make the work space tidier. The first time you use this hidden charger, you need to find the correct location and put a sticker on it for future charging. Well, as you watch this week’s show you’ll see all the places Chad tried it, and for him the only place it worked was on a glass table. The device is said to be able work on 20 mm (0.8 inches) of non-metal tabletops. Most wood surfaces Chad had were more than than, but it didn’t seem to work on one table that was about the proper thickness. So Chad does not recommend this device. It also got pretty bad reviews on Amazon. 3.1 out of 5 starts from 9 people. $29.99.

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Email of the week!
Dear Dick, I was traveling on a two lane highway in the tiny coastal town of Port St Joe in the Florida panhandle when I saw something that made me think of you.
I saw two large orange boats docked at a pier. When I pulled off the highway to get a closer look, I was amazed at what I saw! Look at the writing on the side of the boat closely.
Apparently they are building several new Staten Island ferries. You should see them soon.
Love your show. John Susco
