Giz Wiz Show #1999, Thursday August 1st, 2024.
Wow! One show away from Giz Wiz Show # 2000!
The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you’d like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we have zero ads) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page. There’s a PayPal link there too. Thank you! www.gizwiz.tv.
We Start The Show With More Toys From The Sweet Suite Press Event
Two New Learning Kits From by Thames & Kosmos.
Mega Cyborg Hydro Blaster
The company says kid can explore hydraulics, mechanics, and robotics with a buildable, handheld water blaster and claw! Using over 180 plastic pieces, assemble this awesome device which shoots a stream of water and grabs onto targets with its huge gripper — no motors or electricity required! The claw transforms into many different shapes — in addition to the gripper claw, it can take on a shield, sword, crossbow, and boomerang shape. MSRP: $44.95.

Gecko Run takes classic marble runs to the next level with new creative challenges and less restrictive building requirements. This innovative marble run uses a specially designed system of flexible tracks that does not require any support structures. Traditional marble runs require lots of pieces to create vertical height, but with Gecko Run, your doors, windows, cupboards, bookcases – virtually any smooth surface – become part of your track, allowing you to build higher with fewer pieces. There’s are several different Gecko Run kits available on Amazon.

A Different Kind of Water Bottle, Meet The AirUp
The object of AirUP is to enjoy sugar free hydration with air up a choice of 5 different flavor pods. They are Kola, Watermelon, Orangeade, Apple, and Pineapple. The pod mounts on the special water bottle cap & adds the flavor just by aroma! One pod ‘flavors’. 25+ liters sparkling or still water. You see a demo and hear a lot more about Air Up on this show, but Chad, I and the chatroom thought the cost, $40 & up was really a lot!

Chad’s Crappy Corner
Chad’s New August Cheap Gadget Theme, voted on and picked by our loyal Patreon members is Cheap Time Gadgets – gadgets that have anything to do with time.
Chad’s 1st cheap time gadget is Walgreens Talking Pill Reminder. When you read the features: Fits Most Standard Pill Vials, With audible beep, 30-second recording function, Adjustable alarm interval between doses, Includes voice prompts for assistance + 3 AG13 cell batteries included & 3 adhesive stickers included. All for $9.99. It turns out when Chad tried the audio features they were almost impossible to hear. Opening the battery compartment Chad found 3 corroded AG13 cells. Although it’s designed to fit almost any pill bottle by sticking to the top of actual cap on the bottle, Chad had to give this a ‘don’t buy’. Available at Walgreens.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse
Our email this week is from Norris Hall, who writes:
My daughter, who lives next door, came bursting into the house carrying half a watermelon and shouting, “Hey! I have something for that gadget podcast you’re always watching!”
I said I was pretty sure a watermelon wasn’t a gadget. But she said, “It’s not the watermelon, it’s THIS!” as she held a shiny silver object in the air. I asked, “Is it Giz Wiz worthy?” “Oh, I think so!” she replied confidently. Once she showed me, I agreed. She was too camera-shy to make the video herself, but I was able to get her to demonstrate it.
Below is the Amazon link. There are many different ones, but this is where she got hers…
A shout-out to Leslie Hall Wright for this gadget!
