Seems Fireplace Flames Don’t Have To Be Shades of Orange

One of the fireplaces I saw at Pepcom was the French Door Electric Fireplace, the so-called star of Rowan’s showcase. The R.W.FLAME French Door Fireplace, not only has a dual-door design, it offers a realistic multi-color flame effect plus remote control to vary the flames, and the logs with 16 color combinations! But wait, there’s more. It’s also a 500W/1500W electric heater. You also see their other new fireplace that even lets you arrange the placement of the logs. Either model will be $199.99 for the holidays according to the spokesperson at the show.

The Miko3 Robot is very interesting. It features a 4.7″ touchscreen, has two-way video calling through the Parents App, and using AI it can create videos of the child’s daily experiences. It’s a closed system with enhanced encryption and built-in camera shutter for secured privacy. It’s has a lot more features and you’ll about many of them from the inventor of the Miko Robots on this week’s show. On the video he said the retail price is $249.00, but it would be $199.00 for the holidays. I check Amazon and it is indeed $199.00.

At Pepcom I saw the new JLab Party Speaker Line. They range from almost pocket-sized to party-sized. They all feature RGB lighting, and something the company calls LabSync. That enables the speakers to sync audio across multiple speakers or create stereo pairs. Jlab says their Pop Party is one of the most affordable portable speakers on the market, priced at just $19.99. Mo Torres, our most loyal and frequent contributor has been digitizing hundreds of old gadget video spots from VHS tapes stored at Dick’s Gadget Warehouse. Some are from 40+ years ago. Recently Mo sent me a link to another show where I demonstrated new gadgets, including one very strange on. This was on CBS, and I think the show was called CBS This Morning… As you’ll see, one of the products resulted in a very-funny demo!

1. Video can be ANYTHING about a gadget: I bought a piece of crap. I bought a gadget I love. I have an old gadget I can’t part with because it was ‘high tech’ years ago! Even a ‘What The Heck Is It? Gadget.

2. Videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long in Horizontal Format! Low production value is fine, but we need to hear you and see your gadget clearly! You can be in the video if you like.

3. Post your Video on YouTube and click ‘unlisted’ when you upload it if you want, but not “Private” or we won’t be able to see it. Send us the URL link from YouTube.

4. If we show your video (and we show 99% of them) and live in the US or Canada you’ll get an autographed current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of the US & Canada, I’ll autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res image. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific!
