Giz Wiz Show #2001, Thursday August 15st, 2024.
Wow! We did it. With this show we’re now past 2000 episodes! And this is Giz Wiz Show 2001!
The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006! If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you’d like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we have zero ads) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page. There’s a PayPal link there too. Thank you! www.gizwiz.tv.
Have a small opening between things you wish you could utilize?
Now you just might be able to do that with the Simple Houseware 3-Tier Slim Rolling Storage Cart. This is great for narrow places like between washer & dryer, or between the tub and wall, etc. It’s a quick build kit with wheels and a handle for easy moving. The slim shelves have perforated bottoms for ventilation in humid areas. There are two versions: 16.3” D x 5.5” W x 26.5” H and 18” L x 9.7” W x 26.5” H. They’re available in colors, and sell for under $20 for either size.

Handsome Backpack with a place for your lunch!
This Bikrod backpack has room for a laptop up to 17.3”, and plenty of pockets for all your other school needs. But, it also features an insulated cooler lunch compartment. So you can keep your lunch cool, or warm, or just use the compartment to keep fruit fresh. There’s also a back anti-theft pocket that can fit a phone, credit cards or a wallet. (It’s anti-theft because when wearing the backpack, there’s no way for someone to open the pocket without you totally knowing about it!) There’s also a card pocket on the shoulder that strap can fit like coins or keys. And finally, a built in cable to let you keep your phone charger inside the case, but charge your phone outside the case without having to open anything. I feel this backpack is nicely built and good-looking. Under $40.

Sleep Headband Headphones with Disco Lights? Huh?
When I saw the photo of the YonTune Sleep Headphones with White Noise built-in, I had to order one. Why? Because the photo showed that for some bizarre reason, they also featured flashing disco lights! Well, it turns out the disco lights were an artist’s conception and not on the headband I received. 3 white noises were built in, but had an annoying click every 90 seconds. The Bluetooth pairing was fast and I was actually surprised at how good they sound. BUT, until you love button pushing, you’ll find these quite hard to use. As the instructions say: each of the 3 buttons have 5 functions! Click, double click, hold for 1 sec, hold for 2 second, hold for 4 seconds. OMG, so there are 15 functions you have to remember to operate this headband! No, not for me. It was about $22 on 8/16/24.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
Chad’s New August Cheap Gadget Theme, voted on and picked by our loyal Patreon members is Cheap Time Gadgets – gadgets that have anything to do with time.
On this Giz Wiz Chad’s shows us his new Big Eyes Clock! It’s billed as a Unique clock that is stylish and interesting. How does it tell time? The rotating eyes are used – the left eye = hours, the right eye = minutes). Well, it’s not the easiest way to tell time because there are no markings on the clock and it’s even possible to put the eyes in the wrong sockets when you put them back after putting in the batteries. As you’ll see Chad thinks he did that since his clock never seemed to be right. Chad paid almost $25 for his, but while showing us the listing on Amazon discovered what appears to be the exact same clock for more than $10 less. It’s novelty, but not great as a clock.
Check the latest price on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3X4RnrL This is one Chad saw for under $14 while he was telling us about the one he bought for $24. They look exactly the same!

Email of the week!
This week’s email is from a company that was at the gift show we talked about several shows ago. Their gadgets are non-techie, but great fun so I thought we’d give them a plug. Chad and the chatroom agreed: They make a lot of fun stuff. Here’s their Amazon page:
