You’ll Probably Say “WOW” Too, When You See The WOWCube!
WOWCube is pretty amazing. A 12 year old boy asked his dad why you can only play video games in 2-D, so they invented a cube with 24 LCD screens and 8 mini-modules to run them for a real immersive experience. Play games by flipping & spinning the cubes! You can not play some game you know and love, but in the future you’ll be able design your own game, or build an app for the WOWcube. Originally it was going to be called CubiOS, but everyone who saw how it worked would say: WOW! So it became the WOWCube!
Preorder early bird pricing is said to $250, for a limited time. Delivery of the WOWCube will be in the fall. You can find out more at their website.

We Spend Big Bucks (Well, for us anyway) For Another Wireless Mic System.
After getting so-so results with a couple of low-priced wireless mics, I decided to see if paying more money would bring better results. I bought the Larkbird 2.4G Dual Lapel Mic with Charging Case. It was about $170.00. The clip-on label mics are good-looking and very small, weighing 8.2 grams according to Amazon. It’s really plug and play with no app needed. Opening the case turns the mics on. (They have no off button.) Auto power on and connection is fast and easy. Plug the USB-C receiving device into the phone (We use an LG G8 phone) it blinks green for a second & then goes solid green as it connects to the two mics. No bluetooth is needed. I discovered that both mics needed to be on for the system to work. If you’re only using one mic, leaving the charging case cover will keep the other mic on and the two of them connected. A service of color LEDs tell you the charge in the mics and in the charging case. The company says the 600 mAh charging case can give your microphone full charge up to 5 times and generates 7 hours of using time with one charge. The give the use range of up to 984FT. How do they sound? Pretty decent as you learn on today’s show as I do a demo and then use them at a live Pepcom event.

We Attend A Live Pepcom Event! Vaccination Certificate Need, But No Masks Required!
I only got to play with this new device for a few minutes so this info is from the company: When we created Gameboard, we set out to find what makes tabletop games immersive, bringing our imaginations to life. You can play someone across the board, down the block, or around the world. Gameboard can detect physical shapes or actively tagged objects. Furthermore, we can detect the location, orientation and identification of the object(s) when used with the board. Gameboard supports digital cards through your private screen, as well as the ability to read tagged cards either alone or in a stack. You can download a game you want prior to going offline and connect private screens using the local WiFi option. Develop your own games too. Start by downloading the Gameboard SDK on the company website. Gameboard’s battery gives you two (2) hours of nonstop game play. But you can also play while Gameboard is plugged in. Gameboard has a 22″ playable screen in a 17″ x 17″ sleek form factor. MSRP: $799.00. Preorder on the company website.

Chad’s Crappy Corner and his final gadget for his new April Cheap Gadget Theme.
Chad’s final cheap microwave gadget is the Bad Boy Bacon Maker.
From Amazon: Cook Healthy Bacon in Minutes, Reduced Fat, Easy to Clean Design, Made with Food-Grade Silicone. Bacon Grease Tray Sold Separately. Add up to 6 Slices of Bacon, Snap the Strap, Microwave for as little as 4 Mins, Ready to Serve. Ideal for Family, Singles and Dorm Room Cooking. The Fat Drains Away through the specially designed holes Leaving a Healthier, Crispy Bacon.
And Chad’s take? Chad’s result wasn’t very good. But as you’ll see on this week’s show, it may have been because he was using a thicker sliced bacon. Chad likes the device enough to try it again, but next time he’ll use thinner bacon. Judging from the photos on Amazon from satisfied customers, it should work better with thinner bacon. So it’s may turn out to not to be the ‘crappy’ category. MSRP: $19.95.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video To Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.
Hi Dick and Chad, this is Bob from Dover, NH. This is a new gadget I picked up recently that I thought you guys might be interested in. It is a rechargeable combination vacuum and blower. Chad I know you will be disappointed because it charges with Micro USB and not USB-C but it is still worth it. It also comes with two nozzles, one for the vacuum and the other for the blower. I like it much better than having to use cans of Dust-off when blowing out computers and keyboards.

Take care guys, Bob Layton

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Email of the week!
Richard Vega finds an exercise bike, and optional mat to protect the floor. The mat & many other options all have the infamous “With assembly” box. $34 to come roll out the mat for you. The ad on Amazon has changed, but on this week’s show Chad goes to the old ad & we discover you can even get the $34 “with assembly” if you order a part for $12! In “letter of the week” at the end of this week’s show.
