At the Hamilton Beach Booth they were showing a new portable travel blender. It’s not due out until the Fall and for some reason it wasn’t included on the new products press release available to the press. But you’ll learn about it from the video we shot at Pepcom. The spokesperson said it holds a full 16 oz, which she said is larger than many other portable blenders. It comes with a multi-function cap that can be used as a measuring cup, and as a protective cover for the motor when you remove the 16 ounce container for travel. I thought that was clever. When I went to the Hamilton Beach website to see if there any new info there I discovered that Hamilton Beach makes a bewildering number of blenders alread. However this one is not there since it’s scheduled as a Fall release. The new travel blender will be available in many colors and will retail for under $40, Fall 2022.

The Kul Drinking Water Appliance is a counter top unit that can be connected to your home water supply or used with the optional Side Kick. There are four user selected water options on the keypad. Kül says it uses advanced filtration, so you can confidently refill your favorite water bottle, grab a hot cup of tea or a quick sparkling spritzer, or get ambient temperature water without the concern of contaminants. In the video notice the LED display over the cup changes color with the device function. There’s also a parental control option. For example you could lock the hot water option with a password so kids don’t use it and maybe burn themselves… The CO2 cylinder and the filter are housed right inside the right and left doors for easy changing. The LCD display will indicate when things need to be replaced. If you don’t want to hook this up to your water supply, there’s an optional Side Kick that you can just fill with tap water and the device can use that. As of 7/10/22 the website said “Receive a FREE CO2 3-pack at time of check out. Free Extended 3 year warranty.” MSRP $1495.00. The Side Kick is $79.99.

From the Giz Wiz: Great, Ben. You reminded me that I also have an iPod Touch, plus a great gadget for iPod Touch owners. (You can still find it for sale if you do a Google search. It’s the XtremeMac’s 3 in 1 Microdock. It adds speakers to your iPhone or iPod Touch. and provides a good-looking charging/docking station, snooze control and some other neat features. You need to download the free XtremeMac alarm clock app at iTunes. Yes the Microdock works without the app, but you won’t be able to use a lot of the features. The two very small neodymium drivers offer surprisingly good sound from a docking station that weighs less than five ounces. On the Microdock itself are volume up/down rockers and play/pause music controls.

Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
