Great For Small Spaces, The Mini Faux Fireplace.

The warming look of a log fire, (minus the heat, of course) in very little space. Amazon puts it as 11” x 4.7” x 8”. It can be battery operated via 3 “C” Alkaline Batteries, which are not included, or operated with a USB cord which is included. There’s also a built-in handy timer function. Just push the button on the bottom of the lantern at the time of day you want it to turn on. It will turn on every day at that time and run for approx 6 hours. Then off for 18 hours. As you’ll see in the video on this week’s show, it looks really warm and cozy. But remember, it’s a faux fire, so it does not produce any heat. It was about $25.00 on Amazon on 12/12/25.

For decorating around the holidays, or actually, any time of year, people often turn to ‘fairy lights’. They’re sometimes called Mason Jar lights because they look good inside a jar or even a bottle. They’re sold in many different size packs, and I bought the 10 Pack. Each string of of Fairy Lights has 30 fairly bright LED’s on a total wire length of 10 feet. There’s spacing of about 5 inches between bulbs. You can get bright white, or warm white, which I prefer. It’s powered by 2 AAA batteries, which are included. A lot of customers point out the included batteries don’t lost long.)  There’s a timer function and 8 modes. When turned on, the lights are on for 6 hours, then off for 18 hours, and then on for another 6 hours and that continues until you shut them totally off. So these are great for holiday displays. I paid $21.99 for ten sets on Amazon. (Only $2.20 per set.)

I think toddlers & very young kids will have a lot of fun, and even learn stuff from this versatile Montesssori-inspired toy. Amazon says it’s for ages 3-7 in one part of the description, and then 4-6 years of age in another part. It also says it turns playtime into impactful preschool learning activities. I’m not sure about about that, but I agree kids will have fun playing with it. Since it has a non-removable plastic cover to keep the magnetic cars from falling out, this should also be a good learning game to keep kids occupied while traveling. It was under $16 as on 12/12/25 on Amazon.

 It is sort of a robot that doesn’t take batteries and was popular a few different times in history.  The one I have was built by Ideal in the early 80s but this style toy was made even twenty years prior.  I think it is not only a toy but also can teach children about mechanics and gears.   Hope you annd the audience enjoys it.

Hi Dicky De:  It’s starting to get cold here in Phoenix and I could use a new heater so after seeing your new RoseKM heater I ordered 2 of them. They just came today and when I tried the first one there was a flash and the lights dimmed a couple of times. Then after that it seemed to work OK for a few minutes but then it cut out and wouldn’t turn on again. I opened it up and it looked pretty good inside but I found the push on wire terminals on the mode switch were loose so I squeezed them together and it seems to be working properly now but I wouldn’t leave it turned on and unattended since it may be a fire hazard.   Steve C, Phoenix
