One Final Strange New Gadget From The Pepcom Holiday Spectacular, The Nowatch!
This “watch doesn’t tell time, but is said to reveal your body’s hidden signals. I have to admit I don’t really understand exactly what this Nowatch does. The inventor said it can be pronounced “No Watch, or Now Watch. Info from the company: The NOWATCH is the first wearable ever to continuously measure skin conductance to interpret stress. Using ElectroDermal Activity, biosensing can provide insights into your cognitive zones – overstimulated, balanced, or under stimulated. Skin conductance is a much better predictor of cognitive abilities than heart rate alone, which other wearables use to register overstimulation. NOWATCH uses a more advanced sensor than most wearables. In addition to innovative skin conduction, the infrared (PPG) sensor reaches deeper than green light LEDs, to track subtle changes in your heart rate, sleep patterns, movement and other bio data. It estimates your stress levels and can predict your cognitive state, or ability to focus, up to 60 minutes in advance. When veering into an over- or under- simulation zone, the NOWATCH supports you to restore balance so that you can better focus on the present moment. MSRP starts at $299.00. There’s preorder now for December release.

Two New Gadgets From the Techfluence Holiday Preview Press Event.
Why Add A 2nd Screen To Your Laptop When You Can Two Of Them?
Meet the Xebec Tri-Screen 2.
If you travel and use a laptop for work, this should know about device. Forbes magazine picked it as their best choice for: “Turning your laptop into a three-screen powerhouse.” Info from the company: The Xebec Tri-Screen 2 uses a mounting frame to attach two slide-out 10.1-inch displays to the back of your laptop’s existing screen. Each display slides out from behind your laptop—one on each side of your laptop’s display— creating a highly portable three-display work area. Installing these two monitors and its bracket requires the supplied frame clamps, but nothing extra, like magnets or glue. Each 16:10 aspect ratio display measures with 1920 x 1200 and is a full HD LCD IPS panel with a 60-hertz refresh rate. And each monitor can rotate 180 degrees. This setup is compatible with all Windows PCs, Macs and ChromeOS-based computers, yet it only adds two pounds to what you need to carry around. Ports: USB Type-C, Mini-HDM. Weight: 2 pounds. MSRP: $499.99.
From the Giz Wiz: I asked several questions about this device at a Zoom meeting and you’ll hear the company reps answers on this week’s show. I did learn that the company name, Xebec, is pronounced as though it were spelled ZeeBeck.

Chad’s Crappy Corner & His Final ‘Cheap Halloween Gadget!’
Chad’s final Cheap Halloween gadget is GEJRIO Fog Machine Smoke Machine with 16 Color Controllable Lights Effect.
From Amazon: The smoke machine is equipped with 10 stage LED Lights to combine the fog, and there are 16 adjustable colors & 4 special effects include FADE/STROBE/FLASH/SMOOTH. It has a mode of automatic continuous atomization after each cooling period. If you need manual control, you can use the wireless controller to control the fog machine within a radius of 50 meters without obstacles. When the device overheats, it will automatically turn off the power. It features a hanger, you can install it at a height or put on the ground according to the requirements.
And Chad’s Thoughts: Chad liked this machine a lot. I have a fog machine I bought a long time for more money than this one, so I’m jealous! Chad likes that this machine has LEDs, remote control for the fog, remote control of the LED lights and even automatic fogging function which Chad plans to use nights during Halloween fun. At the time Chad bought it it was about $57.00.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse (And to submit your video & win an autographed copy of MAD Magazine.)
Here’s our email from fan David Eckard:
Dick, Chad,
My QC 15 headphones stopped turning on. While I have a Sony WH-1000XM4
for when I travel, I’d like my QC-15 to work again. It finally occurred
to me to see if any one will fix these. Turns out, someone does. A
website called FixHeadphones.com did it. I googled review
fixheadphones.com and the reviews I found sounded good. So I took a
chance on them. I They charged me $49 for the repair and $39 for a new
power board. A total of $88. Not bad if I say so my self.
They sent me a USPS padded envelope that could hold the headphones
only. Not the case, etc. I was instructed to add padding so I snagged
some bubble wrap from work. They did not want any of the accessories.
I understand why. A way to get a new audio cable as those are
proprietary, thus, expensive.
A few weeks later, I got them back. They worked just fine.
The QC 15 headphones do not have Bluetooth receiving. Back in 2018, I
found a specific to these headphones, Bluetooth receiver. These too work
just fine. I do not remember how much I spent on them but Amazon still
sells them for $49. And in December that year, just a few months later
had to buy a new charging cable having lost mine.

Don’t lose the cable. Ten bucks can get me lunch. Would rather spend it
that way. David Eckard

How To Submit Your Video For The Gadget Warehouse & Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
