AMAZING!! We’re now in year 17 of The Giz Wiz Show!
(The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006!) If it wasn’t for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you’d like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/
On this show we visit Day of Play — New Toys & Games that will be released before the Christmas holidays!
Our first stop was Snap Circuits. Snap Circuits is a fun way to learn basic engineering, electronics and circuitry concepts. Kids use building components with snaps to assemble electronic circuits on a simple “rows-and-columns” base grid. The resulting projects function like the printed circuit board found in most electronic products. Each Snap Circuits part is easily identifiable by a different color and purpose, and each kit includes an easy-to-follow project manual. The
The Snap Circuits Green Energy kit in the photo above and in the video on this week’s show has won 2022 Specialty Toy of the Year!
Snap Circuits brand has been endorsed by K-12 educators globally and used in schools, libraries, museums, afterschool and homeschool programs, STEM and Maker programs, and at home.Giz Wiz Video: https://youtu.be/JwbOG4Im5_k

Remember Amusement Park Bumper Cars? Now You Can Own One!
Last year at the Day of Play Toy Event people loved the Flybar Kid Bumper Car. Yes, a kid-sized version of a bumper car just like you’d find at an old time amusement park! They were so popular they made the list of “Hottest Toys of 2021” list. Even though it was designed for kids the folks at the Flybar booth said adults tried to get in one! There were many requests for a bigger ‘adult-sized’ bumper car. We worked long and hard and yes, we were able to built on! Meet the Flybar Bumper Car XL! This bumper car seats two kids or one adult and reaches a maximum speed of 3 mph. It is made with a soft rubber bumper that protects walls and furniture. It’s joy-stick driven with a joystick for the right and the left hand. I drove one at the toy event and they are great fun! It even has flashing LED lights that reflect down on the floor. With a capacity of 200 pounds, it can hold one adult or two kids. They’re powered by a 6 volt battery and on a full charge will run for about 25 minutes. John, one of the company execs said: “Believe me 25 minutes will be a lot playing in one of these cars”. Of course for max fun, you’ll need to have at least two of these Flybar Bumper Car XL.

Chad’s 4th ‘Crappy Corner’ Gadget for the September Theme.
Chad’s cheap them for September as picked by our loyal Patreons is Left-over Gadgets! Yes, gadgets Chad bought various themes of the past, that he never got to use on the show.
Chad’s fourth left over gadget is the Five Below Backyard Rocket Launcher.
The company says: Bring this rocket launcher outdoors & watch ur rocket fly! See how high u can get it to go, then watch as it spins back down to earth. Stomp on the pedal to blast ur rocket upwards! What’s included: rocket, stand, launcher. Ages: 8+ (adult supervision).
And Chad’s take: Whoa, this rocket not only doesn’t launch, it practically does nothing. You’ll see how bad it is when Chad does his indoor and outdoor demo! It hardly clears the launch tube! Fortunately it doesn’t need batteries. It’s air powered, but seems afraid to fly into the air. It’s out of stock online at Five Below which is probably a good thing since you probably wouldn’t have any fun with it!

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video To Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Our email this week is from Ivan Hahn.
It’s about the show where we discussed internet security videos produced by Amazon.
Ivan writes: Hello all,
I wanted to give you some info about the internet safety videos.
Most of the time with the safety videos (PSAs), they use actors under contract. Amazon produces movies and shows for Prime Video. Most of the time they add PSAs into the contracts of the actors. So it’s most likely free to produce. They would do this back in the 80s and 90s when PSAs we’re huge (example: This is your brain on drugs)
I used to work for news networks (News 12 New Jersey) so this would come up often.
Thanks, Ivan Hahn
