Need Earbuds? Anker Introduces Three New Earbuds At A NY Press Event.
One of the 3 new earbuds went on sale September 29th. It’s the Soundcore Liberty 4, Noise Cancelling Earbuds. Here’s some info from the company: True Wireless Earbuds with ACAA 3.0, Dual Dynamic Drivers for Hi-Res Premium Sound, Spatial Audio with Dual Modes, All-New Heart Rate Sensor. (That’s one new feature. Another:) 360° Immersive Spatial Audio: As you listen to music and watch movies, the built-in gyroscope and spatial audio algorithm track your head movements to always keep you at the heart of the sound for a completely immersive experience. With the Heart Rate Tracking, the in-ear heart rate sensor tracks your heart rate as you listen throughout the day. Check your daily data, use while working out, and more via soundcore Wellness in the app. And this sounds like a feature we talked about with also new Bose Comfort II earbuds – Personalized Sound: Soundcore’s unique technology analyzes your ears and the way you hear sound to create a personalized sound profile that’s unique to you. MSRP $149.99

From Anker: Stay asleep with the 4-Point Noise Masking System. Ear wings and Twin Seal ear tips create a secure seal and an algorithm adjusts the audio volume according to external noise levels to block out up to 35dB of noise. Even for Side Sleepers: The slim, lightweight, and compact build keeps Sleep A10 snugly in your ears without protruding. Wear all night long without feeling discomfort and wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. Customized for Sleep Sounds: By using customized dynamic drivers that produce low frequency sound that’s 10dB lower than standard ones, Sleep A10 enhances white noise and other sleep-inducing sounds to help you fall asleep faster. Manage Your Sleep: Monitor your sleep status and get feedback on the duration and quality of sleep. The earbuds automatically pause audio once you’ve fallen asleep, and you can set a personal alarm to avoid disturbing your partner $179.99. I got an ad from Anker with: “Save 20% With Code: GOODNIGHTUS” for the Sleep Sounds. I didn’t try it and I don’t know if it will work for you, but give a try if you like.

The Giz Wiz Buys His First ‘Shotgun’ Microphone!
I never owned a shotgun microphone, so I was excited to learn about the new Comica VM10 PRO Dual-Mode USB Shotgun Microphone. This offered something I always wanted: Real-time Monitoring. That means the camera person can hear the output from the microphone as it’s being recorded. No need worry if background noise is ruining a take. It also has a gain control, and Digital / Analog Output Mode Switch. I also liked that there is no battery needed. The microphone draw power directly from your phone or camera. It also boosts: Super Anti-interference. Built in 100% aluminum material and especially shock mount. The on-camera microphone can strengthen the anti-interference function to reduce the noise from vibrations. BUT, none of that mattered to me. Here’s my experience. When using the USB C cable on the mic to the USB C input on my phone there was terrible distortion that made the video unusable. I give it many tries on two different phones and all the tracks were bad. So I returned it and got a refund. The whole sad story is on this week’s show.

Chad’s Crappy Corner and his brand new ‘cheap gadget’ for October as picked by our loyal Patreon supporters.
And the winner by a LOT for Chad’s October Theme is: Cheap Halloween Gadgets!
Chad’s firsts cheap Halloween gadget is the Hyde & EEK Spooky Telephone!
First some info from Target: Add an antique-style accent to your mantel or table with the Animated Spooky Telephone Halloween Decorative Scene Prop from Hyde & EEK! Boutique™. This animated 1920s-style phone has a festive orange-and-black design, complete with rotary dial and spooky skulls. Designed for indoor use, this telephone scene prop works well as either a solo accent piece or part of a larger Halloween display or haunted house.
And Chad’s take: Well, Chad loved this. We all loved it because it’s an updated version of the original Hyde & EEK Spooky Telephone. But this one adds a motion detector so someone walking by it can set it off and scare them good if they don’t know about it! You’ll see Chad’s complete video on this show week’s show. And we all impressed by the low price $15.00! And as Chad’s points out, it even comes with the necessary AA batteries. It’s a Target Exclusive.’

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video & Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.
Our email this week is from Bob Layton who writes:
Hi Dick and Chad,
I was trying to find a reusable storage solution for my 3D filament that would allow me to vacuum seal the filament along with some desiccant pouches to keep the moisture out of the filament. I ended up finding this kit at Amazon. The kit comes with a pump that you use to suck the air out of the bags at the blue circle. This kit comes with two size bags, one for the regular sized filament rolls and a smaller bag for the smaller rolls. They also have a double zippered seal at the opening and are very well designed and they work great. I know Chad dabbles with 3D printing and might be able to use these too. I also made a video of the kit for your show:

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video To Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.
We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here’s what we’re looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won’t get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, “family friendly” language applies.
–
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can’t market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it’s a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
–
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don’t have a warehouse. It doesn’t matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you’re still hanging on to it.
–
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
–
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We’ll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that’s unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you’ll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it’s a copy. We’ve tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you’ll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.
All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
EMAIL OF THE WEEK:
Email of the week is from our most loyal fan, Mo Torres, who writes:
Hi guys
In regards to episode 1903, I just wanted to answer a question regarding Amazon returns with missing , original box, & in my case, sometimes missing pieces / parts. I have returned a handful of items, to Amazon , without the original box / packaging, & maybe two times, with missing parts.
I did not hear anything from them for months, but one day, I did receive the nicest, strongly worded email, from Amazon , regarding those returns with missing boxes / parts, & they frowned upon the returns, but said something like, if you find it difficult to return the items with all its parts or missing boxes / packaging, to please not hesitate to call Amazon customer service.
They were so nice , that I now try my best to keep track of all parts & packaging. I felt sooooo bad after the email they sent me.
