On this week’s show, is it possible? Yes, it is! The Giz Wiz Found A New Kind Of LED Bulb! Meet the Feit Electric 6-Way LED Light Bulb.
When I saw this LED light bulb on Amazon, I thought “how the heck did they do that?” What they did was let you choose easily between 5 LED bulb colors: Warm, Neutral, Cool, Daylight and Daylight Deluxe. (I guess ‘off’ is the 6th option.) You choose one of those light color temperatures with a flip of a switch that built right into the side of the LED bulb! The company says it’s compatible with most dimmers and you can adjust the light brightness from 10% to 100%. The 9W LED bulb is a replacement for 60W incandescent bulbs, saving up to 85% on your energy bill. BUT BE AWARE: this is NOT A SMART LIGHT BULB, you make all the adjustments locally, right on the bulb, or with the light switch. Many of the negative reviews mention they couldn’t pair it with an app. That’s because it’s listed right on Amazon as ‘not a smart light bulb’. For what they can do, I thought they were inexpensive: 2 bulbs for under $8.00 as of 4/18/24
