This is a gadget warehouse spot without a video. (I explain on the show how that happened.)

I was about to buy a gadget on Amazon that certainly would have ended up in the gadget warehouse after I used it once on the show. Fortunately I read more about it before I hit the ‘checkout’ button and saved myself about $80! The gadget I was about to buy was the 650W Snow Machine w/ Wired Remote Control. Great Machine for Kids, Parties, Parades – an auto snow maker! Then I got to this part in the description: “Note: the nozzle is a piece of cloth/fabric and NOT a piece of plastic. The cloth nozzle was not supposed to be removed. The description in the user’s manual is printed wrong.” Then they explain you should call tech support to get your issues solved quickly. I also learned that the snow is created by soap. I was going to use this in Gizneyland on New Year’s Eve. It probably would have looked amazing on camera, but OMG, all that equipment would be covered in bubble soap! So I saved money and a ton of grief and equipment repair or replace expense.

However, if you use this snow making machine outdoors and realize it’s loud (so many reviews mention that) and have kids, this machine could provide some amazing fun, is my guess. It would also be great for an outdoor holiday display. You’ll see a bit of video of the snow machine at work via Amazon on this week’s show. There are about a dozen of them on Amazon from about $60 to $100. The Amazon link will bring you to page with lots of them! If you buy one, make a video for The Giz Wiz Show!! (Win an autographed MAD magazine too.)

Email of the week is from Rachel – (Sims2Rachel in the chat) She emails us:

Hi guys!

You have mentioned Temu a couple times and I wanted to give you my two cents. It is pronounced T-moo according to their website. I have bought a lot of stuff from Temu. Mostly craft supplies, hair accessories, and enamel pins. A lot of times to get cheap per item prices on craft supplies elsewhere, you have to buy a bundle but Temu lets you buy smaller quantities at low prices and you don’t end up with stuff you don’t want. There is a $10 order minimum and free shipping always claims to be for a limited time but I have never seen them charge for it. Also, if your order is late, they credit you $5 in your account. I just had this happen for the first time.

That brings me to electronics. I would not buy any electronics from them. All the bad reviews of the site I have seen have been a bait and switch sort of thing. I follow the adage of, “if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”  Even if the electronics don’t claim to be the name brand, I just don’t trust super cheap electronics.

Temu is not the right site for everyone but I have been banned from Aliexpress (I think because I had too many orders never show up). Another advantage is most orders arrive in 7-10 days.
