To contrast the new gadgets from CES 2026, we always find it fune to look back at a gadget of a past CES and wonder: “Did it did product suceed? Is it still for sale?” Here’s a look at the SpareOne Phone, from CES 2012. This was/is an emergency photo that operates on a single AAA battery. It came with a battery said to have a 15 year shelf life. It’s was a phone for emergencies, but could take and receive calls if you installed a SIM card. Retail price was about $50.
