We Start The Show With A Visit To The New York International Auto Show.

I didn’t know what to expect when I saw that there would be an unveiling of the Honda Fastport at 1:30PM on Press Day at the New York International Auto Show. Turns out, it’s pretty small, and doesn’t need gas. That seems a good thing at the current gas prices. It turns out this Honda vehicle isn’t even aimed at the average driver. The Honda Fastport eQuad, is a compact electric cargo vehicle for urban deliveries. It offers assisted speeds up to 12 mph and 23 miles of range. It’s powered by a 250 Watt engine, with regenerative braking. It has modular cargo configurations, and an enclosed rider cabin, a highly adaptable solution for dense urban environments. So maybe I see one delivering Amazon packages toward the end of this year. Yes, it’s a total business to business venture from Honda. But on this week’s show you’ll see plenty of old classic cars. Never owning a car in my life, (but I did own 26 boats over 50 years) I found the stranger stuff down on level 1 at the Auto Show at the Javits Center. It’s open until Sunday, April 12th, 2026.
