There was a lot of talk about Lollipop Star at CES.
Why? Because this gadget is a lollipop that creates music in your mouth as you suck on it. Yes, weird. Also, not good weird in a lot of ways. Chad said you can hardly hear the music playing, even when using the earplugs you get in the package to block outside noise. Each lollipop has a different song, BUT, when you’re done with the Lollipop, you throw it out! So that’s a lot of plastic, plus a battery that provides you with a limited amount of hard-to-hear music. They’re not on sale yet, but you can sign up to be on their ‘first to get them’ email list. Chad said they’ll cost about $9.00 each. Now, it gets weirder. While looking for Lollipop Star on the website, something that looks and does pretty much the same thing came up at Five Below. It’s called the Amos® TastySounds™ Strawberry Flavor Audio Lollipop. It’s available now for just $5. Are they the same, or almost the same, I don’t know. But after hearing Chad’s take on these weird confection, I can get along without either of them.
