On a recent Giz Wiz Show Chad showed a water pistol that hooked up to a canteen filled with water. I joked that you could probably use that to water plants. Then later I wondered if anyone make a large size water container with a device to spray. Looking on Amazon, it turns out LOTS of company’s do. It may be that because living in NYC all my life I never knew such things existed. I’m glad they do and I found one I can use. I bought CHAPIN 20000 Garden Sprayer. It’s their smallest at 1 gallon, but they also make a 2 & 3 gallon version. It looks like the 3 versions are similar. They have a funnel-top and translucent tank for easy filling and cleaning. I bought the smallest because I can fill it at my kitchen sink. Also a gallon of water weighs 8.3 according to what I found on the Internet, so it’s easier to carry around. But my guess is most people with want to use them with common fertilizers, weed killers and pesticides. According to the company, that’s definitely a use for this device. The kit includes a 12-inch wand, 34-inch hose, adjustable nozzle and comfortable spray handle. The ergonomic handle is for pumping (to create pressure in the tank) and you carry it with the same handle. Something not mentioned anywhere that I could find, is why you can’t insert the withdrawal hose into the tank. It looks like there’s a small filter on the end of the hose, but I discovered it just protects the end of the hose in shipping. Because once I removed it, it easily slid into the tank.
