After getting so-so results with a couple of low-priced wireless mics, I decided to see if paying more money would bring better results. I bought the Larkbird 2.4G Dual Lapel Mic with Charging Case. It was about $170.00. The clip-on label mics are good-looking and very small, weighing 8.2 grams according to Amazon. It’s really plug and play with no app needed. Opening the case turns the mics on. (They have no off button.) Auto power on and connection is fast and easy. Plug the USB-C receiving device into the phone (We use an LG G8 phone) it blinks green for a second & then goes solid green as it connects to the two mics. No bluetooth is needed. I discovered that both mics needed to be on for the system to work. If you’re only using one mic, leaving the charging case cover will keep the other mic on and the two of them connected. A service of color LEDs tell you the charge in the mics and in the charging case. The company says the 600 mAh charging case can give your microphone full charge up to 5 times and generates 7 hours of using time with one charge. The give the use range of up to 984FT. How do they sound? Pretty decent as you learn on today’s show as I do a demo and then use them at a live Pepcom event.
