Chad’s first “Power For Your Gadgets” is the badly named: HOCAO YIGO Long-Distance Wireless Charger. Here’s some badly worded info from Amazon: 10W Hidden Wireless Charger Installed Under Marble Wooden Table Furniture, Quickly Charge Mobile Phones Through a Surface with a Thickness of 0.8 Inch or Less. Universal Qi Compatibility.
And Chad’s take: The object of this device is to hide and install the charger under furniture to get rid of messy wires and make the work space tidier. The first time you use this hidden charger, you need to find the correct location and put a sticker on it for future charging. Well, as you watch this week’s show you’ll see all the places Chad tried it, and for him the only place it worked was on a glass table. The device is said to be able work on 20 mm (0.8 inches) of non-metal tabletops. Most wood surfaces Chad had were more than than, but it didn’t seem to work on one table that was about the proper thickness. So Chad does not recommend this device. It also got pretty bad reviews on Amazon. 3.1 out of 5 starts from 9 people. $29.99.
